irrelavant in the the socialist ideology is
"to each according to need, from each according to ability"
this eventually leads to a lack of motivation in all areas.
if there is no incentive to work harder to achieve more, give more according to what the achiever/giver wants, then the society dwindles.
socialism eventually leads to walls to keep the people in, then torture/starve them to force them to work
This is why the first pilgrim settlement failed in the new world. Everything had to be done from scratch. It was implemented as a commune where everyone shares everything. Some of the people (i.e. communist) became lazy, forcing the colonist to revolt from the commune settlement model they started. The true colonist had incentive to strive for the more. And they also provided for the meek by there own choice and goodwill.
We should not help those who will not help themselves and only game the system.
