so if i buy currency in a game with "fiat" money to purchase things in game and then one day the game no longer works, do i get a refund on the investment. Bit coin is the same way. Sure there might be backups, but its like owning a digital book, if the system goes down, better have physical any day.

i also am not saying bitcoin can not make money. But with out electricity the trading system which it operates is no longer valid. What are you going to do write an IOU for some of it. Money will be made as long as people buy into the scam, which it is. Short term there is $$, but long term it will bottom out. I used the game as a reference to the stupidity of investing in something that can be turned off.

silver is good bet for average people i have a very small stack. I do not want to be rich, but i also know the system is broken. While metals have been flat for a little they did see a spike over the summer, and part of that is the metals market is manipulated as well. I like the idea of blockchain from what i can grasp, but physical scarcity will always win over digital scarcity. Copper is also a great investment as well. Last i saw a very low buy in on that.
