This is interesting text you're posting.

Have you considered bringing it to the General thread where many eyes can see and discuss it?

I'm not sure what you want us to do with your drops?

This bread is where memedroppers come to get their ammo.

ThankQ

1) You are correct that the board limits each bread to 751 posts. Whenever the General bread is full they start a new one, with a title containing the next successive number. To find the current general bread, use the Catalog.

Might be helpful to bookmark that.

2) You are correct that a number of the memes are juvenile in concept and execution. We do not have the power to teach people to become artists or journalists or psychologists or masters of advertising. However Q has given us empirical data that the reach of our memes, and their influence, is very extensive. This gives me hope.

This is not a curated collection. Anybody can post garbage or gems here. We feel that each memedropper has the ability to select memes that are most appropriate and useful for a given audience. Periodically we post "More Effective Memes" (attached) but we don't see to much evidence of uptake. Sad.

ThankQ for your contributions.

No doubt.

The culture has changed since your/our day.

Many people spend a few minutes a day glancing at their twitter account. I do mean glancing. If what they see on the tiny screen does not instantly grab their attention with a little rush of emotional content or humor, they pass on to the next eye candy and the message goes unnoticed.

In that environment it is very hard to get people to actually read something.

The culture of memes is a little like sound bites. They have to get the job done in 7 words or less with imagery carrying the bulk of the load. It's actually a difficult medium to do well. (And that's why sometimes we don't do it well.)

Thank you for the Sherman Skolnick posts. It's a trip down memory lane for me. It was probably about 20 years go when I corresponded with him.
