Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao is resigning citing Wednesday’s chaos at the US Capitol.

“Our country experienced a traumatic and entirely avoidable event as supporters of the President stormed the Capitol building following a rally he addressed. As I’m sure is the case with many of you, it has deeply troubled me in a way that I simply cannot set aside.” Elaine Chao said.

Elaine Chao is Senator Mitch McConnell’s wife and served as Secretary of Transportation since January of 2017.

Chao’s departure marks the first cabinet secretary resignation.

‘Don’t Dare Call Them Protesters’: Joe Biden Brands Trump Supporters ‘Domestic Terrorists’

President-elect Joe Biden excoriated President Donald Trump’s supporters who stormed Capitol Hill as “domestic terrorists” on Thursday.

“They weren’t protesters — don’t dare call them protesters. They were a riotous mob, insurrectionists, domestic terrorists,” Biden said sternly in a speech Thursday.

The president-elect angrily excoriated Trump and his supporters for enabling the violence in the Capitol, during an event in Wilmington, Delaware, to introduce his nominations for the Justice Department.

“I wish we could say we couldn’t see it coming, but that isn’t true … the past four years we’ve had a president who’s made his contempt for our democracy our constitution the rule of law clear in everything he has done,” he said.

Biden defined Wednesday’s riots on Capitol Hill as one of the “darkest days” in American history describing it as “an assault literally on the citadel of liberty.”

The president-elect added that the Capitol Police failed to carry out “equal justice” by allowing the protesters into the building.

He said that his granddaughter Finnigan Biden sent him a photo of military soldiers from the Summer protests set up to guard the Lincoln Memorial from Black Lives Matter protesters, and pointed to the disparity of law enforcement response.

“No one can tell me that if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protesting yesterday, they wouldn’t have been treated very, very, differently than the mob of thugs that stormed the Capitol,” he said disapprovingly.

Biden said that the incident was the result of Trump’s long record of disdain for American institutions, democracy, and the rule of law.

“Yesterday was but the culmination of that unrelenting attack,” he said.

Biden revisited four years of frustration with President Trump for challenging the government’s intelligence services, media organizations, and gassing “peaceful” protesters in Lafayette Square and again falsely claimed that the president “held the Bible upside down” for a “photo op.”

The president-elect also accused Trump of trying to “stack” the Supreme Court for the purpose of winning any electoral challenges in the 2020 election and attacking the Department of Justice.

Biden said that Trump was “trying to use a mob” to overturn the votes of 160 million Americans who voted for him.

“Our Democratic institutions are not relics of another age, they’re what sets this nation apart, they’re the guardrails of our democracy, and that’s why we have no president that’s a king,” he said.

Pelosi Calls for Trump to be Impeached or Removed By 25th Amendment as House Democrats Draft Articles of Impeachment to Remove Trump and Ban Him From Second Term

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called for the removal of President Trump by impeachment or the 25th Amendment at a press conference Thursday afternoon. Earlier Thursday Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) issued a similar statement.

Pelosi: “Yesterday, the President of the United States incited an armed insurrection against America. The gleeful desecration of the U.S. Capitol, which is the temple of our American democracy, and the violence targeting Congress are horrors that will forever stain our nation’s history–instigated by the President of the United States. That’s why this is such a stain. In calling for this seditious act, the President has committed an unspeakable assault on our nation and our people. I join the Senate Democratic Leader in calling on the Vice President to remove this President by immediately invoking the 25th Amendment. If the Vice President and Cabinet do not act, the Congress may be prepared to move forward with impeachment. That is the overwhelming sentiment of my caucus.”

Meghan McCain Calls on All Republicans: ‘We Have to Invoke the 25th Amendment’

Thursday on ABC’s “The View, co-host Meghan McCain said that “all Republicans and conservatives who still have clout” have to “invoke the 25th Amendment.”

Reacting to the riot Wednesday on Capitol Hill, McCain said, “This is one of the great national tragedies of my lifetime. This is one of America’s darkest days. I have been absolutely despondent watching this. I’m here in D.C. As everyone knows, my sister-in-law works on Capitol Hill and the office door where she works, the window was busted out. I think that this is a good time to take a very hard look at where we are as a country and take a very hard look at where we are with President Trump. The bedrock of our democracy and the bedrock of what we are as Americans is the peaceful transition of power, and he is clearly a president who has turned into a mad king.”

She continued, “At this point I’m calling on all Republicans and conservatives who still have clout, we have to invoke the 25th Amendment. We cannot withstand this. Our country cannot go on like this, and we cannot possibly risk the idea that we could have more violence between now and President Biden getting elected and inaugurated.”

McCain went on to say that the people involved in the riots “are not patriots and “do not represent America.”

“You know, yesterday when I was watching the footage, these bastards are using the American flag as symbols as they are attacking our own republic. The same flag that our veterans at Iwo Jima held after World War II,” she stated. “You are not patriots. You do not represent America! You are scum of the earth who are using and abusing and bastardizing all that I love and have grown up with for your own sick agenda! And that agenda has been directly sent by President Trump, and then he didn’t disavow it. He didn’t send in the National Guard, and then he called them ‘special’ and said ‘we love them.’ Ivanka Trump called these people patriots. I am a patriot. I come from a patriotic family. I come from a family of service, as does everyone on this show. You are hurting our country. You are becoming a national embarrassment, and we have to get him out immediately because this cannot stand. The final words I want to say on this show this morning in the words of Oliver Cromwell, ‘In the name of God, go.’ We cannot take this anymore.”

Why Was Founder Of Far-Left BLM Group Filming Inside Capitol As Police Shot Protester?

During yesterday's protest in Washington D.C., a Turmp-supporting US Air Force Veteran, Ashli Babbitt, was shot dead by a Capitol Police officer (who has been placed on leave) as she attempted to climb through a broken window to bypass a barricade, along with other Trump supporters.

Filming the incident from behind Babbit, however, was Utah resident John Sullivan - founder of the far-left organization "Insurgence USA" who made headlines in July after he was arrested for intimidating drivers in Provo. Sullivan was interviewed by the Daily Mail and CNN following Wednesday's shooting - both of which failed to provide a satisfactory answer as to why he was there in the first place.

Sullivan told the Mail that "he was not at the Capitol as part of the protest but did not specify what exactly brought him there."

Meanwhile, Trump supporters physically stopped someone from trying to break into the Capitol Building.

What’s Going On Here? Another Video Surfaces of Capitol Police Leading Protesters in Washington Into the Capitol

Capitol police yesterday appeared to entice Trump supporters into the Capitol Building and even lead them inside.

We’ve already shown video of Capitol police removing barriers outside and allowing Trump protesters and others into the US Capitol yesterday.

The reason this is suspect is because why would this surface at all? The video looks like a policeman in the Capitol was actually leading the protesters. He doesn’t appeared frightened for his life.
