Have you seen the end of Godfather III? The Corleone family and other Mafiosi are at the Opera in Sicily. Michael Corleone's son is singing in his professional debut. The Opera itself is dark and violent, mirroring the lives of the Mafiosi in the audience. As the story twists and turns on the stage, there are several murderous plots unfolding within the theatre. Assassins targeting Michael kill the Corleone's bodyguards. Michael's sister poisons a traitor with tainted cannoli.
We also cut away to see members of Michael's crew taking revenge on enemies all over Italy – a corrupt priest is shot, a rival mob boss is stabbed in the neck with his own spectacles and a thieving Swiss banker is hung. Finally, Michael himself is shot but the bullet grazes his shoulder and hits his daughter and kills her. It's an orgy of violent comeuppances and just deserts. Feels a lot like where we are now. Maybe this is what Q was referring to.
