I was fully awake to the horrors of the Bush administration when it was happening, despite being young. I just gave up hope that the system would ever change under Obama and ignored politics for years. Fuck I ignored politics for half of Trump's term. But I came here in the hope that someone, something, somewhere might be different and we could actually have a chance at being free.
