Dunston is really close to a Jewish 'ghetto', and is also a deprived area where neglected children would be easy pickings. I had two school friends from Dunston who joined crazy 'cell churches' and completely vanished from the face of the Earth.
Social Services in the area is totally fucked, by the way.
