Having watched Jones as a guest a few times, I think he is a good person. The problem is that when he runs his own show, he is in the deep end and is a quote mine of absurdity that most people take as a joke at best.
There is a game, Dominions, I like to play. In it, there is the Astral path of magic, which is along the lines of divining the nature of the universe and grasping the proverbial abyss. The consequences of being a low level astral mage going up against a high level one is often that the encounter leaves the lower leveled one insane or retarded.
Jones is kind of like someone who was exploring the astral abyss as an aspiring astral mage and got driven insane by an encounter with higher level mages.
Who then gave him a show so that he would make people think it was all a joke.
It's why I tend to use less direct methods. I do not participate in sectet societies or fraternal orders. I read their works, their inspired fictions, etc, and then I figure it out indirectly.
It requires a bit of insanity to pull off from the get go, but it reminds one's self that directly talking about it is verboten for the average person. They don't get it and can't see.
However, I admit it has been very hard to live since I knew this civil war was coming my entire adult life. I am so absorbed into affairs like this that I hardly have a life outside of it other than what financially supports my existence and I have lived ready to walk away from everything…. So… In a sense… It is a weird feeling to see my existence on the verge of being fulfilled and I also realize that I will have to learn to be a human if I survive and win… Since I have only ever seen the war.
