Dominion Voting Systems suing pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell for $1.3 billion

Pro-Donald Trump lawyer Sidney Powell is being sued by Dominion Voting Systems for defamation due to allegations they were behind the alleged rigging of the 2020 presidential election.

In a 124-page complaint filed with the US District Court for the District of Columbia, Dominion claimed they have been negatively impacted by a “viral disinformation campaign” pushed by Powell that worked to “financially enrich herself, to raise her public profile, and to ingratiate herself to Donald Trump.”

Powell, along with numerous other Trump supporters, have pointed to Dominion as partly being responsible for Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential victory, alleging the machines were rigged to count ballots in favor of the Democrat and financed through foreign funding.

Dominion CEO John Poulos told The Washington Post the impacts of allegations against his company go “so far beyond us” and the lawsuit is “important for the entire electoral process.”

Employees of the company have allegedly received death threats since their voting machines have become the center of conspiracy theories for Trump supporters, and more than half a million has been spent on protection for personnel since the election.

Thomas A. Clare, an attorney representing Dominion, pointed to Powell as “the originator” of many attacks on Dominion, but said far more people could face litigation down the road.

Lin Wood, another pro-Trump lawyer who has pushed voter fraud claims, slammed the lawsuit as an attempt to “intimidate people from telling the truth.”

Dominion previously demanded Powell retract some of her statements about the company, which the lawyer emphatically refused to do, calling the company “fraud masters.”

Dominion is seeking $1.3 billion in compensatory and punitive damages. They are also seeking for Powell to be blocked from making further defamatory statements about the company.

This morning, I spoke to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike.

The situation of this unhinged President could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy.

Interestingly, there was no mention of what response she got from General Milley!

However, she does seem ok with allowing an anecdotally forgetful President-Elect Biden to have his hand on the trigger.

Update (0815ET): With the 25th Amendment out the window, Congressional Democrats are moving on to door #2 - impeachment. According to CNN, Democrats may vote on impeachment as soon as the middle of next week.

According to the report, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her leadership team are working out a "lightning-quick impeachment process," according to "multiple Democratic sources."

"This is urgent – this is an emergency of the highest magnitude," Pelosi told reporters on Thursday, adding "My phone has been exploding with 'impeach, impeach, impeach.'"

Pelosi and her leadership team spoke Thursday night about whether to hold a quick impeachment vote, and the overwhelming sentiment was to move ahead, according to multiple sources. While there were some dissenters concerned that the move could be perceived as an overreach and turn off Trump supporters in their districts, the view among most top Democrats including Pelosi is that Trump should be held accountable for his actions.

The full Democratic caucus will speak Friday at 12 p.m. ET.

Moving ahead with impeachment, of course, doesn't mean Congress would be able to remove Trump from office. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could let the clock run out and not hold an impeachment trial in his chamber given that President-elect Joe Biden will be President on January 20. -CNN

President-elect Joe Biden, meanwhile, has "no appetite" for opening an impeachment proceeding according to the report, and prefers to focus on taking office in less than two weeks.

"Impeachment would not help unify this country," said someone close to Biden, who added that "this is a matter to be decided by the Congress."

House Democrats will hold their first full-caucus since Wednesday's mayhem at the US Capitol, when a group of protesters broke inside and a Trump supporter was shot dead by Capitol police.

This call, scheduled for noon ET, will be an important moment in terms of what's going to transpire over the next two weeks. While House Democrat after House Democrat has backed a second impeachment, the caucus itself hasn't gathered since the dramatic events transpired. The call will be the first opportunity for lawmakers to talk to leadership about the impeachment issue, the 25th Amendment issue and significant security concerns related to the Capitol.

Indeed, given the tight timeline, it isn't possible to launch a formal impeachment inquiry like in 2019, an arduous undertaking that took several months.

The Fed Is A "Clear And Present Danger"

The Federal Reserve and other central banks represent a clear and present danger to future financial stability.

I’ve been saying for a while central banks are fueling an asset bubble and as global market distortions keep expanding week after week there’s no reason to back to walk away from that assertion but rather to stand up and scream the message from the rooftops especially now that central bankers are casually letting some key truths slip (intended or not).

Following up to the Alternative View and The Ugly Truth we got a stunning admission today from Philly Fed Chief Harker:

“The U.S. central bank may begin paring back its bond-buying program as soon as the end of this year, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia President Patrick Harker said. “I could see, potentially, that occurring at the very end of 2021 or early 2022. But it is all going to depend on the course of the economy, which will depend on the course of the virus,”.“It could cause disruption in the markets if we try to do it too soon,” he said.”

There it is, the crux of it all. Not a disruption in the economy, in markets. For a central bank that claims to target the economy with its policies this statement reveals a keen awareness that markets are greatly influenced by the Fed’s QE liquidity operations, QE and otherwise, indeed are dependent on it and the fear of markets reacting is profoundly on the Fed’s mind.

It’s been my long standing contention that with the advent of the 2009 crisis and the Fed’s original intervention methods which were meant to be temporary the Fed has created a market monster that they need to keep feeding for fear it will eat their policy construct alive. A codependency of the worst kind as the market has become so large and disconnected that even a basic correction can be damaging to the economy. We saw this in during the Fed’s policy “mistake” when they were non accommodative for 3 months out of the last 12 years and market dropped hard into Q4 of 2018 immediately impacting retail sales badly.

This inability to extract itself from the policy construct has created a very unhealthy level of codependency. As Mohamed El-Erian comments:

“We have stumbled into very unhealthy codependences; codependences between central banks and investors, between central banks and debt issuers which are governments and companies, and between central banks and politicians. They are all in this unhealthy codependency. It’s like a bad marriage: They’ve ended up relying on each other, and they just don’t know how to get out of it.”

I don’t think central banks quite realize how much irresponsible risk taking is going on. In 2010, Ben Bernanke talked about the benefits, costs and risks that come with unconventional policy. He added, the longer you maintain it, the lower the benefits, the higher the costs and risks. This was ten years ago. At that time, Bernanke was thinking of unconventional policy as an economic bridge. Now, it has become a destination.”

FBI offers $50k reward for information about suspected pipe bombs planted in DC amid Capitol unrest (PHOTO)

The FBI has asked the public for information regarding two suspected explosive devices found in Washington, DC during Wednesday’s unrest at the Capitol, as law enforcement begins efforts to identify people involved in the riots.

The feds are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for tips leading to the location, arrest, and conviction of the person or individuals responsible for placing the alleged pipe bombs near the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee.

A flyer released by the FBI included a photograph of a person wearing a gray hoodie and black gloves and pants as they carried a black bag. The agency did not specify if the individual in question was a suspect in their investigation.

According to the FBI, at around 1pm on Wednesday law enforcement agencies were tipped off about a suspected explosive device with wires found at the RNC. A second suspected pipe bomb, which bore similarities to the other device, was reported fifteen minutes later at the headquarters of the DNC.

The Capitol Police Hazardous Materials Response Team determined that both objects were dangerous and could cause “great harm to public safety,” according to a statement released by police.

Bomb squads used water cannons to damage and disable the suspected explosive devices.

The appeal for information comes as law enforcement agencies, and even some media outlets, are asking the public for help in identifying individuals who participated in riots at the US Capitol.

The suspected bombs were found on the same day that a large protest against certifying the 2020 election results was held in the capital. A group of protesters later forced their way into the Capitol. Five people, including one police officer, were killed during the unrest, although several of the deaths have been described as resulting from “medical emergencies.”

The Transition Integrity Project Admitted Outside Actors Would ‘Turn Protests Violent’

While the mainstream media refuses to acknowledge that AntiFa could have infiltrated pro-Trump demonstrations, the Transition Integrity Project warned that election-related protests could be infiltrated by actors seeking to “turn peaceful protests violent.”

In 2020, The National Pulse exposed the Chinese Communist Party and Democrat-linked Transition Integrity Project (TIP) as working to fix a victory for Joe Biden. The group, which conducted wargames about potential election outcomes, is staffed and funded extensively by Obama administration alumni.

While the mainstream media has downplayed all claims that AntiFa or other left-wing agitators could have infiltrated yesterday’s protests and storming of the U.S. Capitol, TIP, which got favorable coverage from a host of establishment media outlets, insisted that such an event could occur.

“Of note here: TIP’s scenario exercise suggest that President Trump and his more fervent supporters have every incentive to try to turn peaceful pro-Biden (or anti-Trump) protests violent in order to generate evidence that a Democratic victory is tantamount to “mob rule,” the group wrote in its 2020 playbook promising a “street fight.”

D.C. Cop Speaks Out, Says Cops Were Among Rioters Storming Capitol, Flashed Badges to Get In

As the Free Thought Project reported this week, mainstream media outlets ran with headlines that police at the Capitol building were caught off guard and didn’t expect people to breach a series of fences leading up to the building. However, these protests were planned for weeks with Trump acting as the ring leader, instructing his followers to march on the capitol, carrying out plans that were publicly available on social media for weeks. Despite many on the right claiming Antifa was behind the violence, we are now learning something far more sinister was afoot.

It is now widely known that police officers removed the barricades after video emerged showing them removing barricades and allowing the rioters in to continue to the capitol steps.

In addition to the videos above, after the rioters were allowed into the capitol, quite literally storming through the front doors, the cops inside did very little to stop them. In fact, during a live stream, a cop was filmed taking selfies with one of the rioters.

This action by police should come as no surprise, however, as the protesters are outspoken supporters of police and roughly 80% of police are outspoken Trump supporters. In fact, in many of the photographs that surfaced during Wednesday’s chaos, Trump supporters were seen carrying massive thin blue line flags as they marched on the capitol.

Now, however, we are learning another reason the police were so friendly to those storming the capitol — they were cops too.

Briefly mentioned in a Politico article is the fact that a Metro D.C. police officer admitted that the mob of rioters who stormed the capitol on Wednesday were made up of off-duty cops.

One current Metro D.C. police officer said in a public Facebook post that off-duty police officers and members of the military, who were among the rioters, flashed their badges and I.D. cards as they attempted to overrun the building. “If these people can storm the Capitol building with no regard to punishment, you have to wonder how much they abuse their powers when they put on their uniforms,” the officer wrote.

Indeed.

Now that the word is getting out, Capitol police are facing backlash for, as Politico states, ” appearing to feed the rioters’ perception that they would not be severely punished for their behavior.”

“The fact is that it’s explicitly because they were white dudes with the support of the president that law enforcement basically did nothing,” one congressional staffer said.

But if cops were among those in the ranks, and were flashing their IDs to have fellow cops stand down, that would be far more sinister than cops showing white privilege.

When comparing other instances of police officers responding to protests, the treatment of the MAGA crowd in Washington becomes utterly disgusting.
