It wasn't necessary. Had HRC won the "Trump base" would've dissolved and scattered to the winds, posing no significant threat to their power. After the Trump presidency, however, they are alarmed, awakened, and solidified. There was absolutely nothing to gain by putting in an imposter to run a head fake on anybody.
