The DNA was that of a relative of his. She donated her dna profile to an online registry that is free for anyone to use that is researching possible relatives.

The cops literally spent months combing this website….I think in a last ditch attempt. They had old dna from the cop that gave them some parameters..like race and ethnicity. So they just whittled it down to this woman and a few others, and then focused on her bcs of her residence.

Then they stalked him out and dig in his trash. When they hit a possible match with the old dna, they arrested him and got a better sample that matched

The whole thing is fucked up. I’m very glad they got him….but at what cost?

Every story I read is the same in detail. Not really giving much up

It’s a scary precedent bcs it’s way too easy to frame someone. My dad gave his dna to ancestry…but I didn’t. So know I have to really watch my back ( lol )
