Frenz,

Those of us who know our gospels must know that what we are facing right now is every bit as difficult as what the Disciples faced when Jesus first bluntly stated what would happen during the Last Supper, then offered up the first Eucharistic meal. (Here let me note, Trump is not Jesus, and we must never get confused about that fact. But thus far, he seems to have been as good a shepherd as any man can be, here on this earth at this point in time.)

At that last supper, there was only one there among all his closest, most beloved friends who understood what Christ meant to do, and that one was Judas. Judas, who was furious that the sacrifice to come meant that he would no longer be in charge of the money bag and granted a position of authority with which to lord it over others, but rather would be a follower of a seemingly-dead king with a kingdom nobody could see.

Meanwhile, Peter, who started off valiantly proclaiming his fidelity and actually rejecting the plan (get thee behind me, Satan!), who hot-headedly chopped off the ear of one of the arresting soldiers, ended the night by rejecting his beloved master not once, not twice, but three times; almost everyone else scattered, except for John… I'm sure you know the rest.

All seemed lost. I think many of us have a very good sense, now, of what that must have been like.

Take heart. Nothing is over until the end, and in the end, God does truly win.

I'm not saying trust the plan, nor trust Trump, nor trust Q - even as I hope very much that all this is true, and there will be a glorious ending to this movie.

I am saying, no matter what happens, trust in God who has His hand in all things. Don't give in to the forces of the lie. Pray, and listen for the Word of the Lord. And for goodness' sake, put on the full Armor of God.

God bless you all, and God bless America.
