The has is said to be Kappy's deadman's switch, the key to the files alleged to contain evidence of crimes used as blackmail.

600 character min. to create a thread? WTF is up with that? Some bot-prevention hack, presumably.

First, anon wishes to say thanks to anons here and going all the way back to 4chan in 2018 who quickly posted Kappy's hash tweet and ran with it, but never were able to open anything that anon knows of yet. But they might have…needs to be dug.

With some prodding from Lin Wood, the case was reopened here. Lins Parler tweet associated the hash with a page at CultSate.com, and anons quickly connected the has to the first letters of an otherwise cryptic page.

Anon suspects Lin knows where the actual files are, but published the info to get anons digging; perhaps Lin is attempting to protect himself or the information, dunno.

Anon has tried the has as it is on the Blockchain to no avail. A few other simple tricks were tried (rehashing the passphrase w/different protocols, for example), also to know avail.

Anon thinks the info on the CultState page matters. Anon has hashed a few of the lines on that page, and even the whole page, to no avail.

So now anon is posting this, because our brand of autism is necessary. Anon is amazed at what this place has done, and is quite sure this can be solved with our autism.

2. Passphrase and SHA512 Hash

cultstate.com has issued protections on this matter

3. Current Status

The Blockchain is a great big database spread out on zillions of computers all over the world. (There are also private blockchains, but that's another discussion).

A hash is the key to any entry in that big database. The way you query it via the web is to browse to the following URL:

https://blockchain.info/tx/my-hash-goes-here?show_adv=true–

You don't need code to test the hash. You just need to construct a URL containing the hash.

Paste this in a browser and see what you get:

https://blockchain.info/tx/7379ab5047b143c0b6cfe5d8d79ad240b4b4f8cced55aa26f86d1d3d370c0d4c?show_adv=true

Now try Kappy's hash:

https://blockchain.info/tx/86d53c1315f42ea48caa0dc1b82a1c61e988b1035db897e90c2303c05d8721648ca816eada320c950b75985575b495a12c06d0a0ba77b9e23ccbd7d31b5bd035?show_adv=true

Bummer, eh?

Well, that's where we are at the moment.

4. Hash, you say?

What's a hash? It's an encryption of some string of characters. That's all.

The encryption algos will render the same result for the same input every single time. Lin Wood provided the phrase that makes up the hash input. Anons somehow figured out (or were, more likely, told by someone), that the phrase is actually the first letters of each sentence of this text, found at https://cultstate.com/2019/05/16/I-Ask-Papacy/:

There are different hash algos. Run the first letters of all those sentences through Standard Hash Algo 512 (SHA512, like this https://passwordsgenerator.net/sha512-hash-generator/) and you will get Kappy's Hash every single time.

Here's where anon needs help. The hash points people to this page. What about hashing the sentences? Anon tried a few, to no avail. What else can we do with this information to that will help usCrack the Hash?
