Wanted to add that this scenario makes this quote from Trump at the Save America rally make sense: I

“ just spoke to Mike. I said, “Mike, that doesn’t take courage. What takes courage is to do nothing. That takes courage,” and then we’re stuck with a president who lost the election by a lot, and we have to live with that for four more years. We’re just not going to let that happen.”

At the time I didn’t think that made any sense. But Pence knowing he is already fucked could have kept the status quo and sent the electors back to the states where the fraud would be investigate or obfuscated or whatever may have happened in our broken and corrupt system. Instead he led the entire group of them through their treasonous charade and created the opportunity for what is about to unfold according to the post for half Chan.

So despite knowing he was going down either way he willingly did his job and showed the courage to take them all down with him.
