We have to live through the next x number of days until the inauguration no matter what we believe. We can span that time in a state of misery, or we can hold out hope. Nothing good that has ever happened in my own life has been anything I saw coming. One second it's not there, the next second it is. The worst that will happen if we cling to hope is that on the 20th, all hope is lost. Then we hope for the only remaining course of action. So worst case, we can enter that state of being lost, adrift at sea today by giving up hope, or we can draw what we do from it by waiting until the 20th to decide anything. Appearances are rarely anything but deceiving, or we'd all be filthy rich.
Finally, when we think critically and actually dive in and look for support that we're actually sticking with something substantive, sometimes we actually find it.
I have been guilty of throwing in the towel more than once in the past, and I was rather vocal about it on this board. It didn't make my life any better. Just emptier.
