Abdullah is most definitely /ourguy/. He's been touting the Western values in his region. He's insanely patriotic toward America, and I don't think it's a show. I know people who have had conversations with him, and his views are very forward-thinking. Now that the Saudi Prince is mimicking him in value and ideology, we're looking at a possible peace in the middle east situation. While they might disagree ideologically, the Saudis and the Jordanians are direct descendants of Mohammed (Abdullah is a Hashemite, meaning DIRECTLY descended; the Saudis are descended from cousins, I believe), which gives them a certain gravitas. The reason SO MANY were upset when ISIS torched the Jordanian pilot had a lot to do with the fact that they aren't inclined to abuse the descendants of Mohammed and they were essentially burning the King in effigy (he was a pilot in his service for his country, which all of the royalty are required to do).
