I believe it is more along the lines of, if any sinner listens to the conviction of the Holy Spirit and repents for their sins then of course Jesus is faithful.
However, if a sinner's heart has become so cold that they have completely rejected the convictions of the Holy Spirit then by their own free will that person has rejected God's gift of salvation.
