I'd like to put out crumbs, and a hypothesis, and get feedback from other anons.

The hypothesis: The cabal intended to detonate a nuclear bomb in Washington DC on January 6th to assassinate POTUS, take out the Capitol, destroy miscellaneous evidence and witnesses, murder some of Trump's most ardent supporters, prevent DECLAS, prevent the Storm, and justify a war with Iran. Undercover military defused/prevented the bomb, seized the damaging evidence cabal gathered for destruction, and has evidence of cabal's attempt to nuke Washington. After there was no detonation, cabal freaked and is running around going REEEEEEE!!!!!

Evidence or supporting points:

• DOD announced that it would terminate support for CIA counterterrorism operations on Jan 5: "The Pentagon is planning to cut most of the military support it provides to the CIA’s counterterrorism missions by Jan 5 … The decision, described as both surprising and unprecedented, was reportedly detailed in a letter by Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller to CIA Director Gina Haspel." Cabal may have thought Storm would not happen until this took effect.

• Chinese President Xi reportedly wanted POTUS "disappeared" by Jan 6, according to Lude Media. If cabal thought the Storm would not happen before the 6th, Xi's deadline matches.

• There was a widely reported threat that Iran would fly a plane into the Capitol: "Multiple air traffic controllers in New York heard a chilling threat Monday in audio obtained exclusively by CBS News: 'We are flying a plane into the Capitol on Wednesday. Soleimani will be avenged.' … The sources said they believe the threat was designed to suggest hitting the Capitol on the same day Congress is set to count the Electoral College results." This could be cabal seeding the narrative for a False Flag, so when cabal destroys the Capitol, everyone blames Iran.

• A tweet on Hillary Clinton's account on Jan 5 was concerned about the possibility of Trump starting a war with Iran.

• DOD Secretary Miller ordered the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, on station near Iran, to leave the region. Then Trump overruled the move, and kept Nimitz in place. Could this have been bait to get the cabal to chatter, if they were planning to use Nimitz?

• On the evening of January 5, Neon Revolt hinted that there was an elevated risk of an intentional EMP (nuclear bomb): "I advised all my readers to purchase (a Faraday bag/cage) … to protect valuable electronics in case they followed through on this … tonight might be the night to store your valuables in said Faraday bag / cage".

• On Jan 7, the twitter account @wokewonderland, claiming to be the sister of the Viking Shaman who stormed the Capitol, says "WHAT IF… There was actually a bomb in the capital building yesterday meant to take out all Trump supporting Patriots and most of DC.." By itself this isn't strong sauce, but this claim does line up with the rest of these points. (She also claims her brother infiltrated cabal organizations to gather evidence.)

• If Xi was serious about assassinating Trump by the 6th, a (False Flag) nuclear attack on Washington DC is a plausible method to attempt, due to the wide blast radius.

• If cabal expected to assassinate POTUS on the 6th, this would explain why they turned into frantic paniccritters when nothing happened, fearing what he might do in his final days. If they thought POTUS wouldn't launch the Storm until after the 6th, and they planned to assassinate him on the 6th, then they believed they were going to prevent the Storm … and when the bomb didn't go off, the continuation of the Trump presidency for the final two weeks became an unexpected threat. Therefore, REEEEEEE! 25th Amendment and Peach Mint 2.0 in a frantic frenzy! "US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called Thursday for President Donald Trump to be urgently removed from power, branding him 'a very dangerous person who should not continue in office.' 'This is an emergency of the highest magnitude,' the top-ranking Democrat in Congress said as she urged Vice President Mike Pence and Trump's cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment"

• Many news reports have covered Pelosi pressuring DOD to take away POTUS' control over nuclear weapons. The articles I've seen all speak of "launch codes", but Vox Day summarized this in a very specific way: "One wonders how they would describe the "conspiracy theories" that Nancy Pelosi is pushing - TRUMP WILL NUKE DC IF YOU DON'T INVOKE THE 25TH AMENDMENT - if they consider my simple observations to be dangerous." I've seen NO sauce for Pelosi suggesting Trump would nuke DC, but Vox went there … why? Perhaps dropping a hint about what cabal tried, or perhaps Pelosi actually said this from projection? Do any anons have more information on this one?

• There have been reports that the military may have used the chaos at the Capitol to seize evidence (such as hard drives) documenting serious crimes. @wokewonderland suggested that the cabal intended to use the bomb to destroy evidence (now in the possession of the military). If cabal knew the Capitol would be destroyed, could they have asked their people to bring highly compromising evidence TO the Capitol, using the justification that Antifa would steal/destroy it, but actually so it could be obliterated in a nuclear detonation? If so, there could have been a treasure trove of evidence gathered together that day …

• Could cabal have invited people like a prominent BLM activist to the Capitol with the intention that he would be killed by the blast? Any other inconvenient witnesses they were going to assassinate this way? And how are those people going to feel/react when this comes out, and they realize they were targets? Could this relate to the ferocity with which there's a push for arresting people who entered the Capitol?
