Rome, Italy anon would like to weigh in on the discussion in a recent bread, about Vatican being blacked out, Pope arrested etc.
By chance anon just walked past St Peter's Square a few minutes before coming on to Qresearch. Everything seems totally normal, if you consider that Italy is in fucking endless lockdowns of various gradations and so there are zero tourists/pilgrims in St Peter's Square.
It's dark here in Rome, and also in Vatican City, because it has been fucking raining practically nonstop for over a week. Sunlight, what's that?
The bells of St. Peter's Basilica normally ring every 15 minutes on the quarter hour. There are other bells nearby, however, which ring differently and at different times. On Sunday mornings, there's a belltower inside Vat City a stone's throw south of the basilica (if you're facing the basilica it's to your left) which rings at an off time and IMO in a very odd way before Mass(es), I've heard it around 7:50 AM sometimes while passing by. There's another belltower attached to the Vatican Palace (if you're facing the basilica it's off to your right), which rings every evening at a strange time, I think it's 6:10 PM or so.
Today being Sunday, Pope Francis normally would have come to the window of the Vatican Palace at 12 noon for the Angelus. But since Christmas time he's been live-streaming from inside the Vatican Library somewhere. That's because the Italian govt locked the fucking nation down, and the Italian police closed St. Peter's Square, so nobody could get in there. Remember, the nation of Vatican City is completely surrounded by the city of Rome, which is the nation of Italy. You can't get into the Vatican without passing through Italy! So when the fucking Italian fascists cordon off St. Peter's Square, there's not much the Vatican can do about that.
In any case, everything looks "normal" as anon said. But if that changes, anon promises to let everyone know. In fact, anon is planning tentatively to stroll past St. Peter's Square this evening, to try to get a look at that infamous nativity scene from hell which anon has not seen yet. Will look for anything out of the ordinary. Having lived here for many years, anon recognizes when things are out of the ordinary
