Two day ago (Jan. 8) Germany was very close to a complete power outage.
The available energy dropped by 3741,4 MW, below the reserve of 3.000 MW in a short time. The frequency was reduced to stabilize the energy shortage.
The power grid in Europe is very connected. If you have an outage in one country, most probably it will drop out in all EU countries because with this kind of fluctuations you cannot stabilize it anymore and automatic emergency shutoff will occur.
