Exercise Citadel Guibert 18, which is taking place this week in Reims, France, plays a key part in the close relationship between 12 UK Armoured Infantry (AI) Brigade and their French counterparts in the 1st French Division.
Both the British and French armed forces provide a rapid reaction force, held at high readiness to deploy on operations anywhere in the world. Together they form the Combined Joint Expeditionary Force (CJEF) designed to deploy across the full spectrum of contingency operations, including disaster relief as well as being able to respond with military capability to the next crisis.
Exercise Citadel Guibert saw staff from the two nations working side-by-side, as well as with other NATO allies, to practise command and control of an operation to stabilise a fictional region troubled by international disputes, terrorism and humanitarian problems.
Captain Ian Thornton, 12 AI Brigade Battle Captain, said of the exercise “Exercise Citadel Guibert is essentially designed to prove that we can fight effectively as allies, in seamless terms.”
“The scenario sees an insurgency break away and declare independence. The 1st French Division deploys to ensure the end state. As part of the plan, 12 AI Brigade move over the divisional border to take key objectives and persuade the insurgents to surrender.”
The CJEF is based on a lead nation approach with one or other nation providing the majority of the troops and command structure, depending on the operational and political situation.
The Rapid Reaction Corps-France is a NATO unit capable of commanding national or multinational forces. Its mission is to provide France with a rapidly deployable headquarters that can be employed within the full mission spectrum and under several mandates (French, NATO, EU, Coalition or Partner Nation). It consists of representatives from 15 countries.

Since the exercise was about a joint response to an area breaking away and seeking independence with the Brits tasked to cross the border and "convince the insurgents to surrender" I try to figure on those big blue circles being areas the joint forces control (blue = friendly for NATO) since it is a cross-border operation. The Black Lives Matter activist who was seen storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 was arrested and charged, the Department of Justice said Thursday.
A newly released court filing says John Earle Sullivan, 26, told FBI agents last week that he was at the Capitol when the breach happened. He said he entered through a window that had been broken out. He also said he was present when Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran, was shot dead by a U.S. Capitol Police officer as she tried to climb into the House Speaker’s Lobby through a window.
Sullivan showed agents some of the footage he captured inside the building, which he and others entered illegally.
Videos showed Sullivan and others breaking through a barricade, with the Utah man shouting: “There are so many people. Let’s go. This [Expletive] is ours! [Expletive] yeah,” “We accomplished this [expletive]. We did this together. [Expletive] yeah! We are all a part of this history. Let’s burn this [Expletive] down.”
He was later heard encouraging protesters to climb a wall to get to an entrance to the Capitol and was seen entering the building.
During one conversation with others while inside, Sullivan said, “We gotta get this [expletive] burned.” At other times, he said, among other things, “it’s our house [expletive]” and “we are getting this [expletive].”
Sullivan told U.S. Capitol Police officers to stand down so that they wouldn’t get hurt, according to the court filing (pdf). He joined the crowd trying to open doors to another part of the Capitol, telling people “Hey guys, I have a knife” and asking them to let him get to the front. He did not make it to the doors. He later tried to get the officers guarding the Speaker’s Lobby to go home, telling them: “Bro, I’ve seen people out there get hurt.”

Sullivan has posted in support of Black Lives Matter. He leads a group called Insurgence USA, which says it was founded in the wake of the death of George Floyd, a black man, in police custody in Minneapolis last year.
“The lack of care for the human life was unacceptable so we set out to end police brutality. We then set out to empower and uplifting black and indigenous voices,” the group’s website states.
Sullivan was charged with rioting and criminal mischief in Provo, Utah, based on his activities around a protest last year in which a person was shot and injured.
Sullivan was charged this week with unlawful entry, disorderly conduct, and attempted obstruction of law enforcement. He faces jail time if convicted.

Irish Health Dept forced to admit in court CV 19 virus doesn't exist
Here is a video from 12/27/2020. A court in Ireland refused to provide evidence of isolate (laboratory isolate) of the Sars-cov-2 virus. Specifically, the court acknowledged that it had no evidence that the virus had ever been isolated (purified from other biomaterial) by anyone in a laboratory. In other words, the court stated that it has no evidence of the existence of a scientifically obtained strain of this virus.

Because they simply didn't have the real virus in their laboratory in Atlanta, one of the largest in the USA. How is that possible? How is that possible that they are ordering to clean driveways and public places, presumably because virus is everywhere, yet they don't have it in their largest labs? But a new report has warned that some hand sanitiser products available to purchase online may be unsafe to use.
Trading Standards has issued a recall for two hand sanitiser gels being sold on Amazon and eBay, which were found to pose serious health risks to the public.Worryingly, one of the gels was found to contain 37 per cent methanol - a highly toxic banned substance that if ingested, can lead to blindness and death.
Methanol is currently on The Cosmetic, Toiletry & Perfumery Association's list of banned ingredients allowed in any hand sanitisers in the UK.
The gel, which was sold in the UK on AliBaba and Ebay, was found to contain 37 per cent methanol - a toxic alcohol that is used industrially as a solvent, pesticide, and alternative fuel source.
According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), methanol can can cause a range of nasty side effects if ingested.
The CDC said: 'Methanol's toxicity is due to its metabolic products. The by-products of methanol metabolism cause an accumulation of acid in the blood (metabolic acidosis), blindness, and death.'
Methanol is on the UK's list of banned ingredients for hand sanitisers, and has been call 'unacceptable' by the FDA.
The FDA said: 'Methanol is not an acceptable ingredient for hand sanitisers and must not be used due to its toxic effects. FDA’s investigation of methanol in certain hand sanitisers is ongoing. The agency will provide additional information as it becomes available.'
Ibcccndc Instant Hand Sanitiser was also found to contain insufficient levels of ethanol (7 per cent) to kill germs, such as the Covid-19 virus.
Meanwhile, the second hand gel to be recalled was called Yucky Hands, despite the fact that its US-based producer, YuckyGroup, claimed the gel was 'FDA & WHO approved'.
While this hand sanitiser did not contain methanol, an analysis revealed that it only contained an alcohol volume of 42.3 per cent, which is considered insufficient to effectively kill viruses.
Natalie Hitchins, Head of Home Products and Services at Which?, said: 'It's really worrying that hand sanitisers that at best fail to protect and at worst could cause serious harm to someone's health continue to be found readily available on online marketplaces.

NEW YORK (AP) — Benjamin de Rothschild, who oversaw the banking empire started by his father in 1953, has died. He was 57.
The Edmond de Rothschild Group, the company he was chairman of, said that de Rothschild died of a heart attack Friday afternoon at his home in Pregny, Switzerland.
Since 1997, Benjamin de Rothschild headed the banking group, which was named after his father. Today, Edmond de Rothschild Group says it manages assets worth 160 billion euros, or $190 billion.
Forbes magazine estimates de Rothschild's net worth at $1.5 billion. He is a descendent of the Rothschild family, which has a nearly 300-year history running European banks.
In a press release announcing his death, the Edmond de Rothschild Group said de Rothschild was passionate about finance, sailing, cars and wine. He was also a philanthropist, involved in the Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital, the company said.
He is survived by his wife, Ariane de Rothschild, and their four adult daughters.
