But the 2.4 and 5 GH open channels are inadequate for this. Without FCC opening more channels, no one will manufacture radio chips that broadcast elsewhere, besides the Chinese, and the CCP backdoors all chips.

I did come up with a design to do something like this to service rural areas. But you need some wireless long range point to point trunks. While doable at 2.4GHZ, WEP is the only encryption available for these p2p trunks. Sure you could ssh or ssl before WEP, but man in the middle is child's play.
