35 years (civvie) for me and only in DC one time at 13 years old. I did get to climb up to the top of the Lincoln Monument but nothing else was open that day. It felt like I landed in Rome though OUR accomodations were in a cabover camper in Arlington National Forest- a gorgeous KOA campground (with laundry and INDOOR bathrooms! Luxury!) torn down to get rid of all the hippie squatters who were hitchhiking enmasse.

Those FBI archives anger me and trouble me deeply. Were those files held as blackmail? Nothing ever happened to known criminals like Pelosi's father other than some very nice letters of congratulations. He id a bang up job in Baltimore. I would be surprised to find there's not a similar file for his contemporaries in cities across America.
