Hebrews 2

14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he (Jesus) too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

Revelation 12:11 New International Version (NIV)

11

They triumphed over him

by the blood of the Lamb

and by the word of their testimony;

they did not love their lives so much

as to shrink from death.

I think it is comprehension that is your problem, not the language. Let me try to help you.

What REALLY do people fear?

Think about the fear that was induced by the Covid pandemic. It is the FEAR OF DEATH that makes people so easily enslaved and willing to give up their freedoms. People lack courage because they fear death. They surrender to evil men because of their fear of death.

The Bible tells us that Jesus' death and resurrection releases us from the fear of death that enslaves us. We can overcome any trials and sufferings and exhibit tremendous courage in the face of death when we no longer FEAR death.
