>>12458517 Chaffetz condemns President Trump (PB)
There's your answer as to why he likely left congress abruptly at such an early age. Skeletons?
Real investigation or a stopper?
Chaffetz came to prominence in 2015 for his extensive investigations into Hillary Clinton.
Flip flop.
He rescinded his endorsement of Donald Trump in early October 2016 but expressed his intent to vote for him three weeks later.
No reason given.
On April 19, 2017, Chaffetz announced he would not seek re-election in 2018,[2][3] and on May 18, 2017, announced he would leave the House of Representatives on June 30, 2017.[4] Chaffetz signed on as a contributor for Fox News and began with the network on July 1, 2017.[5]
Born into the club.
Chaffetz's father's first wife was Kitty Dukakis (née Dickson), who later married Michael Dukakis, future Massachusetts Governor and 1988 Democratic presidential nominee.[21][22] The relationship between Chaffetz's father and Kitty Dukakis lasted four years[23] and produced Chaffetz's elder half-brother John Dukakis (born John A. Chaffetz),[24] who was later adopted by Michael and Kitty Dukakis. While in college, Chaffetz worked as a Utah co-chairman of Michael Dukakis' 1988 presidential campaign. As reported in 2009, Chaffetz remains close to his half-brother and the Dukakis family.
Chaffetz's father was Jewish, and his paternal grandfather Maxwell (Max) Chaffetz (1909–1986), the son of immigrants from Russia, was an FBI Special Agent.[16][17] Max Chaffetz was the brother of Hammond E. Chaffetz, who pioneered federal antitrust prosecution policies later upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in United States v. Socony-Vacuum Oil Co., before building Kirkland & Ellis into one of the most powerful law firms in the United States, as well as the second cousin of Washington, D.C. real estate developer and philanthropist Morris Cafritz.
