If there is a big first arrest that changes people's minds about everything, I don't see it being on the Left. I see it being on the Right (or RINO), or some neutral/bipartisan individual. Otherwise, it would tear things apart, rather than uniting people. Particularly with the existing media slant to the Left.

I didn't say that they needed it. Technologically speaking, that's what the platform is geared towards. Aside from working as a temporary corral, until non-Leftists get frustrated with the lack of features and go elsewhere.
At the same time that decentralizing rallies would reduce casualties if bad actors decided to try something illegal, it's hard to argue that people would be safer relying on local police as opposed to Secret Service and others in the capitol to secure the area, particularly in Leftist states.
