Yeah, the MS13 on both sides of the Pond jumped on that story like a pack of wolves, didn't they?
Turns out there is an excellent reason for the Quarantine:

There is particular alarm over a contagious, incurable fungus attacking plane trees in south-west France.
A blight in Europe and the US that is affecting sweet chestnut saplings can also affect English and sessile oak.
‘We have learnt from ash dieback how important it is to be able to act quickly to identify where infected trees may be.’

After losing all of our American Chestnuts, elms, and now ashes (cherry & plums are next btw), the last thing we need is another frickin tree blight.
Scientists & dedicated treenerds are close to making a blight-resistant American chestnut by grafting with a Chinese one, but they may not be immune to new diseases.
Also, can't find the sauce now, but one of these British tabloids last week mentioned that the European Sessile Oak only lives 5-7 years.
Misprint or intentional gaffe?
Would not surprise me at all if that particular tree had a disease. Not at all. Trojan Oak?

>you never know…. there are many double meanings
Yes, there is. Know anything about the petroglyphs there?
Exactly. And the only trees that live such a short period of time are sick and/or neglected ones.
That's why I think it was a jab at POTUS. Gonna wait & see what the test results are from the lab before speculating further.
Yeah, news is not good no matter where you go. Heard something about an Oak wilt in the NE, which is a fungus, so could be that?
Cedar meaning Juniper (Eastern Red Cedar), yes? If so, that is NOT a good sign. Those trees could survive Armageddon (rhetorically-speaking).
Yup. Enough to have gotten away with it,
once a couple million people were toasted to death and everyone else was living in fear, uncertainity & doubt and/or being tracked 24/7 through their cell phones.
Don't think it's any coincidence she's a redhead (not that there's anything wrong with being one).
