Jews are from JUDEA. in JUDea, you see the root of the word JUDGE, the world JUDICIAL, etc. and in fact the Romans used the people of Judea heavily in their legal system.
The judge strikes a hammer (gavel) on the table when he issues a decision or pronounces sentence. That's part of the reason the Jews put the hammer in the communist "hammer and sickle" symbol on all the commie countries they founded around the world like East Germany, Soviet Union, Vietnam…
The animal and human sacrifices are demanded by lower-level astral spirits because these are consciousnesses that have chosen to cut themselves off from God's ("Source's") love. They cut themselves off from it because they don't want to accept karmic punishment for their misdeeds.
Because they can no longer assimilate the energy that naturally flows to anyone who accepts God's love, they have only one other option to sustain themselves. And that is to subsist on the energy that is naturally released during the suffering and death of animals and humans. Hence why we read in the Old Testament of "gods" demanding the sacrifice of oxen, goats, etc.
