OpenDNS, at least some servers, runs blocklists. It's for parents keeping kids off bad sites, or schools, etc.
8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 are google dns
1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1 are cloudfare dns
Not sure those are any I would trust.
Look into US Level 3 DNS:

I use the 4.2.2.1 series. I have a network wide DNS resolver (pihole) that runs through them and it's been good, even with VPNs running through them.
Try DNSJumper (Windows) to test DNS latency from your location if you think you have DNS issues. Run a speed test and it will show you which nodes are down.
You don't have to use the fastest DNS it finds. Just highlight the server you want to use and it will plug i in to your windows network properyies for you.
