The Beast With Five Fingers (1946)

Just saw this the other night on TV. I noticed the main character (Peter Lorre) is named Hilary Cummins (kek). Lorre plays a psychotic goule who is killing people and blaming the murders on a severed hand. Sounds a bit familiar. At the end the hand is burned in a fire while wearing the ring.

Along from the name (Hilary), the ring and hand looks too familiar.
