The optimist in me is hopeful this is the case and that the crime itself can only be prosecuted after it's fully committed, which would involve Biden officially taking the oath of office. They seem awfully panicked still to get Trump out of office immediately despite him already supposedly leaving within a few days anyway.
The cynic in me says it's more hopium and that things will just continue to worsen for the foreseeable future, as they always do.
