Police photos show how Indiana abortion doctor illegally stored remains of 2,246 fetuses in his garage and car

'I've never seen anything like this. Ever.'

Police photos showed what the family of an Indiana abortion doctor saw when they tried to clean up his garage and discovered the remains of 2,246 fetuses.

The photographs were released after the case was closed without charges because Klopfer had already died.

"In the 31 years I've been in this job, I've never seen anything like this. Ever," said Will County Sheriff Mike Kelley.

The fetal remains were given a dignified burial by local officials.

Why did he do it?

While Klopfer's true motivation may never be known, some hints were left behind.

Dr. Geoffrey Cly, who worked as a backup doctor for Klopfer, told WBBM-TV that he thought the abortion doctor kept the fetuses as trophies.

"So here's a guy who's not trying to do the proper technique on a basic procedure, but yet can save fetal tissue in a very methodical, scientific, tracking way," Cly said.

"The way he saved them, it's like it's something he wanted to preserve as a trophy, as a memory, for some reason," he added.

Another hint came from an interview with a documentarian before he passed away. Klopfer, a German national, said that the fire-bombing of the German city Dresden during World War II was critical in forming his opinion of human nature.

Four Chinese Ships Enter Japan's Territorial Waters Near Disputed Senkaku Islands, Reports Say

Four Chinese ships have entered Japan's territorial waters near the disputed Senkaku Islands, the Kyodo news agency reported on Wednesday, citing Japan's security service.

According to the Japanese news outlet, this is the first such violation registered in 2021.

In 2020, Japan registered 24 cases of Chinese ships' violation of its sea border and 333 cases of Chinese ships' entrance into Japan's contiguous zone. In mid-October, China's vessels entered Japan's territorial waters and left them only 57 hours later, marking a new record of the length of stay in the area.

The previous record was hit in July when Chinese ships drifted in Japan's territorial sea for 39 hours.

The islands in question, known in China as the Diaoyudao islands, have long been an object of territorial disputes between China and Japan. Tokyo maintains it has had sovereignty over them since 1895 and Beijing claims that the islands are marked as a Chinese territory on Japanese maps circa 1783 and 1785.

Following World War II, the islands were controlled by the United States and handed over to Japan in 1972. China believes Japan illegally seized them.

Monitor says 16 killed in suspected Israeli strikes in eastern Syria

No comment from IDF; dead said to include 5 Syrian soldiers, 11 Iran-backed fighters; area bombed is a main route used by Tehran to smuggle weapons to terror groups like Hezbollah

Israeli airstrikes after midnight Tuesday targeted a number of sites near the Iraqi border, Syrian media reported, with a watchdog group saying up to 16 people had been killed in the strikes.

According to Syria’s official SANA news agency, the strikes hit the areas of Albu Kamal and Deir Ezzor. The report said officials were assessing if any damage or casualties were caused.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a pro-Syrian opposition organization, said that at least 18 strikes had targeted bases and storehouses used by pro-Iranian militias and terror groups.

It said that among the dead were five Syrian soldiers and 11 others, including from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Lebanese Hezbollah and the Fatimid Brigade, which includes pro-Iranian Afghan fighters, although their nationalities and a precise breakdown were not immediately known.

The claim could not be verified and was not reported by official sources in Syria. The Observatory has regularly been accused by Syrian war analysts of inflating casualty numbers, as well as inventing them wholesale.

The Israel Defense Forces had no comment on the late-night strikes, in accordance with its policy to neither confirm nor deny its operations in Syria, save for those in retaliation for an attack from the country.

The area targeted has reportedly been repeatedly struck by Israel in recent years as it houses a number of bases used by Iranian-backed groups and is key to a land corridor for Tehran that links Iran across Iraq and Syria through Lebanon, which Iran uses to smuggle in weapons and rockets, mainly to the Hezbollah terror group.
