Marines don't use combined arms? It has it's own air force for crying out loud.

I was a Marine, and I can sure tell you we would not have been photographed laying around like nasty slobs all over the floor of the capitol with weapons laying all over the goddam place. Embarrassing.

I have seen much worse photos than this, but this is still bad. No situational awareness. Weapons laying free. Imagine being an enemy and walking up on this scene. I know it's NG,so they aren't full time dedicated soliders, but still, what an undisciplined bunch.

No, they just really don't look like a disciplined unit. But it's not surprising. It's National Guard. Even Marine reserve units are a bit lackluster. These are civilians who have real jobs and play solider a couple times a year. Had Marines or even active duty Army been called in, this scene would look much more impressive.

When I was a kid they mocked both sides fairly equally, and it was genuinely funny. It probably was programming on some level like all media, but it wasn't anywhere near as egregiously one-sided and nasty as it is today.
