Has anyone ever explained why it is possible to be a 'white supremacist'?

Is there somehow a notion that the Constitution forbids people from being proud of their heritage if they have a non-brown/black skin color, or that those who are proud of their heritage are to be discriminated against, or labeled 'domestic terrorists'?
