Just a few weeks ago, a man stood atop concrete barriers outside of the White House and yelled into a bullhorn and, in an expletive-ridden rant, explains to the crowd that they need to rip the president from the White House before the election. Amazing right? Is someone so bold to threaten a sitting President? As I watched his speech, I thought about what possible hardships he went through growing up to make him commit a federal felony while the camera’s rolling.
I decided to dig into him a bit, almost for a personal understanding of what can drive someone to be so mad at the world, let alone one person. Did he have a tough upbringing? Was he “wronged” by the system? Did he not have all the same opportunities as everyone else? Is that fueled this hate-filled rant? As I began to dig into this man’s life, if for anything other than a personal understanding of what drives some of these movement “leaders,” I was shocked to find out who John Sullivan really was.
Who is John Sullivan?
Unlike most social justice protest organizers, let alone radical anti-police extremists we typically see taking leadership roles in protests, Sullivan grew up part of a wealthy family in northern Virginia. Sullivan and his brothers were all nationally ranked inline speed skaters and competed in competitions throughout the United States and international competitions in Spain, France, and Italy.
When Sullivan finished high school, he relocated to Salt Lake City, UT, to begin training as a professional speed skater. While in a specialized speed training program, Sullivan worked various odd jobs until he turned 21, when he began a new job, driving an Uber.
Uber actually featured Sullivan in a featured article and several commercials, one of which was last aired on 8/29/2016 on national television.
In January of 2018 Sullivan competed in the Olympic Trials in a nationally televised race.
The Freight Connection
According to his LinkedIn Page, Sullivan also worked in the logistics industry while training. He has his previous experience as a freight broker withUnishippers and World Wide Express in 2017 through April 2019and claimed to be the top sales rep in 2018-2019 as well as the “Platinum Club President” from 2018-2019. Several letters addressed to Sullivan congratulating him on promotions within Unishippers are displayed on his profile.
Sources say that Sullivan left Worldwide Express late last year and began working as an independent freight agent for several companies, most recently a stint as a freight agent with mega-broker Priority1. Sources within the company confirmed he was an active independent agent but no longer working with the company.
In a recent online video at a Los Angeles protest, Sullivan tells a woman that he currently works in cybersecurity. PT News Network reached out to Proofpoint, a cybersecurity firm listed on Sullivan’s LinkedIn profile as his current employer. In an email, a Proofpoint spokesperson commented they would not comment on the status of employees.
