I'm thinking the EU wants a major conflict in order to strengthen the power of the EU. Some countries have been more "on board" than others. A major conflict could strengthen control over various EU states and lead to the creation of an EU military. It could also be used to turn the EU into a single country (like the US).

They would need money from the banks. They would call in US assistance via NATO, and all the migrants could be used to create modern day concentration camps. Slave labor, scare the population about the muslim threat inside their countries, give them a common enemy, etc…
If they would take me I would have joined years ago.
