Despite FBI Fearmongering, DHS Sees No "Specific, Credible Threats" At This Time

Officials have not identified “specific, credible threats” ahead of Inauguration Day, a top homeland security official said Friday.

“There’s no specific credible threats at this point in time. There’s just this raised level of tension. And so we’re raising our security level. And we’re doing it across the country,” Ken Cuccinelli, acting deputy secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, said on CNN’s “New Day.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray told Vice President Mike Pence in a briefing on Thursday that the bureau was seeing an “extensive amount of concerning online chatter” of potential threats before and during the inauguration.

“We’re concerned about the potential for violence at multiple protests and rallies planned here in D.C. and in state capitols around the country in the days that come that could bring armed individuals within close proximity to government facilities and officials,” Wray said.

‘There at president's invitation’: Lawyer for ‘QAnon Shaman’ gives ‘bizarre’ interview comparing Trump to cult, asks for pardon

The lawyer for Jacob Chansley, dubbed the ‘QAnon Shaman’, has claimed his client entered the US Capitol at President Donald Trump’s “invitation” and a pardon would be “honorable.”

In what CNN anchor Chris Cuomo described after the fact as a “bizarre” interview, attorney Al Watkins joined his show to put the blame for events at the US Capitol last week on the president and compared him to Jim Jones, a cult leader who led a mass suicide-murder of his followers in 1978.

After an audio glitch forced Cuomo to head to a commercial break, Watkins returned by phone and pushed back against the anchor who had opened the segment by calling his client a “fool.”

“It’s really important we should stop calling people fools because we have a large percentage of our population who spent a great deal of time in their lives hanging on every word of President Trump,” Watkins said.

According to Watkins, his client did not “break into” the Capitol, but walked through doors being held open by police and was “not armed” – though he was wearing horns and a “metal spear” that had signs and the American flag attached to it at various points.

“He felt like his voice was for the first time being heard,” Watkins said of his client’s support for the president.

It would be “peaceful” and “honorable,” according to the attorney, for Trump to pardon his client, as well as other like-minded and non-violent protesters who entered the Capitol on the day which saw five deaths, including that of a police officer.

Watkins said Chansley acted on “a driving force by a man he hung his hat on, he hitched his wagon to, he loved Trump – every word, he listened to him. He felt like he was answering the call of our president – he was there at the invitation of our president.”

Microsoft, Big-Tech Coalition Developing Rockefeller-Funded COVID Passports

A coalition of big tech companies, including Microsoft is developing a COVID passport, with the expectation that a digital document linked to vaccination status will be required to travel and get access to basic services.

The group is calling itself the Vaccination Credential Initiative (VCI), and includes Microsoft, Salesforce and Oracle.

The US health provider Mayo Clinic is also involved in the project, which is being described as “the most significant vaccination effort in the history of the United States.”

‘Manipulated’ internal vaccine evaluation emails leaked following December cyberattack – EU drug regulator

Emails related to the vaccine evaluation process were leaked following a December hacking attack on the EMA, the European drug regulator, the agency said, adding that data was “manipulated” to undermine trust in the vaccines.

A batch of “unlawfully accessed” documents obtained by hackers that has since been posted online includes “internal/confidential email correspondence dating from November, relating to evaluation processes for COVID-19 vaccines,” the European Medicines Agency (EMA) said in a statement on Friday as part of its ongoing investigation into the December incident.

The watchdog specifically stated that some emails posted by the hackers were “manipulated by the perpetrators prior to publication in a way which could undermine trust in vaccines.” It did not provide any further details as to which specific parts were changed and in which way.

Instead, it repeatedly said in its statement that the high speed of the vaccine authorization in no way affected the “high-quality standards” of their scientific assessment, and that “the evidence shows convincingly that the benefits of vaccination are greater than any risks of the vaccine.”

The EMA reported in early December that it was targeted in a cyberattack and that an investigation was launched into the incident. At the time, it did not provide any details.

Earlier this week, media reports indicated that a trove of data allegedly stolen by the attackers from the EMA surfaced on hacker forums on December 30. According to the media, the leaked data includes email screenshots, EMA peer review comments, along with some documents and PowerPoint presentations. Nothing has been reported on the exact content of the data so far.

Pfizer and BioNTech said in a joint statement that data related to the vaccine jointly developed produced by the two companies “had been accessed” during the breach. The EMA recommended the Pfizer and BioNTech shot for authorization in late December.
