Finland Confirms 32 Cases of Side Effects From Pfizer’s COVID Vaccine, Medicines Agency Says

Finland reported 32 cases of side effects, including anaphylactic reactions, in people who received a COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer/BioNTech, the Finnish medicines agency Fimea said on Friday.

"There have been 32 reports of adverse reactions to the first Comirnaty vaccine (the vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech). The reports mentioned, for example, allergic reactions (including anaphylactic reactions), limb pain, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, nausea, malaise, urticaria, fatigue, headache and chills," Fimea said, adding that the country has not registered any vaccine-related deaths.

A number of countries have shared data on the side effects of Pfizer’s vaccine, the Norwegian Medicines Agency said on Thursday that specialists are investigating the deaths of 23 people, who died after being vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. Moreover, the Israeli Health Ministry said in late December that one in 1,000 vaccinated Israelis developed mild side effects from the vaccine, while the Netherlands reported 100 cases of post-vaccination side effects, including severe allergic reactions.

Finland launched its vaccination campaign simultaneously with other European Union member states in late December.

Authorities to Pursue Graft Probe Against Former Romanian PM

Romania’s president on Wednesday greenlit a criminal investigation into allegations of bribery levelled against a former prime minister currently serving as speaker of the country’s senate.

Iohannis’s office has announced that the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) had received the go-ahead to pursue a probe against Călin-Constantin-Anton Popescu-Tăriceanu, on suspicion of receiving illicit payments during his tenure as prime minister.

Prosecutors have accused Tăriceanu, who led Romania’s government between 2004 and 2008, of receiving political consultancy services worth more than US$800,000 funded by an Austrian company in exchange for his party passing government bills in its favour, according to the Thomson Reuters Foundation.

Attempts to investigate Tăriceanu in relation to the case reportedly ran aground two years ago when lawmakers declined to lift his constitutional immunity. Before that, in 2018, a separate real estate corruption case saw him acquitted of providing false testimony.

Tăriceanu has reportedly denied all wrongdoing, decrying the investigation as a bid by Iohannis to purge Romania’s political scene of credible opposition.

Romania has a graft problem. In 2019, anti-corruption watchdog and OCCRP partner Transparency International ranked the country among the European Union’s most corrupt member states.

In particular, Romania’s judiciary has been under special monitoring by Brussels since it joined the bloc in 2007.

OCCRP recently published a story on the appointment of Laura Kövesi, a former public prosecutor in Romania, as head of the nascent European Public Prosecutor’s Office, mandated to pursue “crimes against the EU budget” and due to begin operations sometime this year.

Regarded by many as one of Europe’s foremost anti-graft crusaders, Kövesi had faced a rocky road to the post, having been fired from Romania’s National Anti-Corruption Directorate and subsequently charged with corruption after raising concerns about proposed legislative reforms in her home country that would have seriously endangered the independence of the judiciary.

Impeachment Witness Fiona Hill Connected Christopher Steele to Dossier Source, Alleges Declassified Doc

Anti-Trump impeachment witness Fiona Hill has been revealed as connecting Christopher Steele with his “primary sub source for the dossier” – a document that falsely alleged links between President Trump and Russia.

According to a John Solomon Reports podcast on President Trump’s move to declassify all documents in the Russia probe, Steele, a former British intelligence officer, “reveals that he got to that sub source, that sub source was delivered to him by one of the most famous impeachment witnesses against Donald Trump. Fiona Hill.”

“She, according to Christopher Steele’s debriefings, was the person that connected Christopher Steele to his primary sub source for the dossier and he later, according to Christopher Steele, he tells Fiona Hill that that sub source, that person that she had connected to him is part of the reason why the dossier became the dossier,” he adds.

The source was “the one that the FBI subsequently interviewed and said Christopher Steel’s representations weren’t true, they were made up, it was bar talk, I never intended it to be FBI information.”

Solomon notes the absurdity that “someone that would testify against the president in the 2019/2020 impeachment proceedings had an earlier role getting Christopher Steele on his dirty dossier.”

Heathrow Terminal 2 Reportedly Evacuated Over 'Suspect Item'

London's Heathrow Terminal 2 has been entirely evacuated on Friday evening following reports that baggage was left unattended in the Airport.

Footage has emerged online showing crowds of passengers being exiting the terminal.

The airport said on Twitter following the emergency that teams were currently responding to a "suspect item found in Terminal 2" and that check in, security, and immigration would be temporarily suspended the "appropriate checks" took place.

Heathrow's Terminal 5 remains "fully open and operational", the airport confirmed.

This came in response to confused passengers who asked the airport online why they had been evacuated and if the incident would impact their flight plans.

The airline soon confined that the issue had been resolved and apologised passengers for any inconvenience caused.

Why Doesn't Twitter Ban the Chinese Government for Their Lies About Forced Labor?

Twitter has come under fire recently for refusing to ban the Chinese government for lying about not employing forced labor in the Xinjiang province.

“‘Forced labor’ is the biggest lie of the century aimed to restrict and suppress the relevant Chinese authorities and companies and contain China’s development,” Chinese spokesperson Hua Chunying tweeted.

Accompanying the tweet was a video of forced laborers smiling and saying how good everything is at the factory. Nauseating.

More than one million Uyghurs, an ethnic Muslim minority in China, are being held against their will in several camps in Xinjiang province. and are forced to work in factories — some of them making products for Western countries. The Chinese Communists also practice forced abortions on Uyghur women as well as forced sterilizations. The Communists claim that their policies “emancipate” women.

Claims of forced labor made by Western governments and human rights groups cannot be denied. So when the Chinese foreign ministry tweets out an obvious lie about forced labor camps. why isn’t the account suspended? They banned Donald Trump for “lies” about the election, why not ban China for even worse transgressions?

On Thursday, the Chinese spokesperson accused the U.S. of creating lies and taking egregious actions based on its lies to violate international trade rules and principles of the market economy. The spokesperson also claimed that the United States was trying to undermine global industrial and value chains, and damaging the interests of companies and consumers all over the world, including those in the United States.

A Twitter spokesperson said that the tweets did not violate the company’s rules when reached by Fox News. Additionally, the spokesperson drew attention to the fact that the account was labeled as a China government account.

“We believe this is an important step so that when people see an account discussing geopolitical issues from another country, they have context on its national affiliation and are better informed about who they represent,” according to Twitter’s guidance on such accounts.

What kind of double-talk is that? What does that even mean, “context on its national affiliation”? It’s worse than hypocrisy. It’s deliberately obscure and nonsensical.

The Withhold Release Order (WRO) issued by CBP is based on information that “reasonably indicates” the use of forced labor within China’s so-called “re-education” camps. CBP also claims China is oppressing its Muslim population in that region.
