I think people are taking all of this a bit too seriously.
For starters, image is a tool, nothing more. How you look and how you present yourself is a weapon, if you will, and it has a different effect on different groups.
Another thing to keep in mind is that "white hat" is your own projection. There is only cause and effect. Some people know why they are doing something, some people believe they are acting on their own designs, etc - each play drives the board ever further to its inevitable conclusion.
You cannot stop your opponent from moving the pieces under their control, so engineer their moves as though they are your own. What matters is the end state of the board when the opponent can make no further moves. How we get there is the inevitability of movement of pieces.
A third thing to consider is, again, that image - appearance is a tool… As is the expectation of it. In the struggle to prove ourselves more than dirty, horny apes - a culture develops whereby we are convinced to hate the fact we are not the immaculately conceived notions of humanity we aspire to…. Wherever it was we got these ideas from.
The same people losing their minds over a guy dressed as a viking taking the halls of congress are the same ones who promote the 'culture festivals' where roads are blocked off and people's lives interrupted to have people in tribal attire dance around in honor of fake global warming gods - or whatever.
Turnabout is fair play.
Fourth…
None of us who are really looking at the prospect of civil war are going to attack when the enemy is ready and prepared. We know our own branches of service best, and will push them to their mental breaking point and have people abandoning their post before we ever indulge any of their desire for something to happen as their superiors scream the sky is falling.
