Hey…. question for religionfag and/or biblefag:
Could someone explain the significance of Commandment #2: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image–any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'
Then explain why NOBODY follows this and it isn't really talked about.

I however, have a different theory. I think that in the ancient world, the leaders were considered gods. The gods controlled the people as best they could. If the citizenry produced art - images and graven images - they recorded history at the time. The gods like to rewrite history. Using language they can rewrite history, but they cannot change the art…, the true history.
No offense to religionfags, but it is quite likely that although the creator had a hand in influencing the gods, the gods wrote the 10 commandments to maintain control of the masses.
