8.992 KHz is the freq that they transmit on. With a SDR, an up converter, a balun, 50 ohm coax and about 60ft of wire. That is enough to pick it up maybe need filtering if there is a ton of RF around you.
It does a decent job finding images and can find cropped or resized images fairly often but at the end of the day you are also correct that it may have missed indexing a picture. Usually if it does not show up in tineye I consider it a tell that there might be moar digging needed.
