Parler Back From The Dead As CEO Posts New Message

Parler’s website suddenly appeared online Sunday with a message from its CEO, John Matze, who said, “Hello world, is this thing on?”

The message suggests Parler was able to find another hosting service, coming about a week after Amazon Web Services booted the social media website from its services, taking the site down. It came as Parler—billed as a “free speech” platform—was seeing an unprecedented surge in users as prominent conservatives, among others, were being banned from Twitter, Facebook, and other platforms.

Matze also issued a temporary status update.

“Now seems like the right time to remind you all—both lovers and haters—why we started this platform,” Matze. “We believe privacy is paramount and free speech essential, especially on social media. Our aim has always been to provide a nonpartisan public square where individuals can enjoy and exercise their rights to both. We will resolve any challenge before us and plan to welcome all of you back soon. We will not let civil discourse perish!”

Stockman: Why Does Sleepy Joe Think We Need Another $850 Billion Of Transfer Payments?

In light of Sleepy Joe’s swell new $1.9 trillion package of more free stuff, it’s time to get out our magnifying glasses again. The purpose is to compute the size of the hole in America’s collective paycheck that purportedly requires such continued, extraordinary beneficence from our not so rich Uncle Sam.

To repeat: There is no reason in the world why the February (pre-Covid) level of wage and salary disbursements is not a solid and appropriate benchmark for measuring the pocketbook hit from the Covid-Lockdowns that have wreaked havoc on the US economy since March. That is, from the point at which the evil Dr. Fauci convinced the Donald to pull the plug on MAGA and his own tenure in office, too (of course, 80-year old Dr. Fauci is still there, fixing to bamboozle yet another notionally “elected” president).

Still, back in February the Donald was boasting to one and all that he had delivered the greatest economy the world had ever seen and Wall Street apparently agreed, pushing stocks high into the nose-bleed section of history.

As it happened, the February run rate (annualized) of wage and salary disbursements was $9.659 trillion, which computes to about $805 billion per month. So we would suggest that if $805 billion of monthly wages was enough to justify celebration of the Greatest Economy Ever, then the shortfall from that benchmark is a solid measure of the hit to US worker earnings that has occurred since February.

Based on the red bars in the chart below and translated to actual monthly numbers, the Covid-wage and salary loss computes as follows:

March: -$25b;

April: -$76b;

May: -$61b;

June: -$43b;

July: -$31b;

August: -$19b;

September: -$12b;

October: -$6b;

November: -$3b;

December est: $0b;

10-month total: -$276b

The total of $276 billion of lost paychecks compares to $8.05 trillion of wages and salaries which would have been earned during that period at the February rate ($805 billion). So the cumulative shortfall through year-end amounted to just 3.4%.

REPORT: Biden Team to Migrant Caravan: Don’t Come, You Won’t Get In — Yet

NBC News reports that a senior Biden transition team member warned the newest caravan of Honduran migrants not to come to the U.S. at this time. The official reportedly advised that if they come they will not be allowed to enter the U.S. — for now.

“The situation at the border isn’t going to be transformed overnight,” the unnamed transition official told NBC News. “There’s help on the way, but now is not the time to make the journey.”

Currently, there are multiple programs put in place by the Trump administration to prevent the caravan migrants that are now forcing their way into Guatemala from Honduras from entering the U.S. if they make it this far. Those programs include immigration enforcement programs in the Northern Triangle countries of Central America and Mexico.

They also include the administration’s Remain in Mexico protocols and the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocols put in place by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These programs led to the expulsion of approximately 90 percent of migrants illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, CBP officials previously told Breitbart Texas.

Late last week, President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris met with potential cabinet members and told them “his day one plans to introduce immigration reform legislation and protect DACA recipients,” Breitbart’s John Binder reported.

Their plans also include ending the Remain in Mexico policy and Title 42, Binder stated.

Currently, thousands of Honduran migrants are attempting to make their way through Guatemala after forcing their way through border crossings over the weekend.

“We are trusting in God to open our path, Biden is supposed to give us work opportunities to those who are there (on American soil), Hernandez tweeted quoting migrants en route to the U.S.

NBC reported:

The senior Biden transition official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said those who have been waiting at the border, along with other vulnerable populations, will be a priority for processing and entry, rather than those who have recently arrived.

The official said migrants attempting to cross into the U.S. to claim asylum in the first few weeks of the new administration “need to understand they’re not going to be able to come into the United States immediately.”

The official also said that the day-one proposals by the transition team oar for “undocumented immigrants already living in the U.S., not those who are considering arriving now.”

The unnamed official would not reveal what migrants who might be arriving in the next few weeks will find. However, the official added that what the caravan migrants “will not find when they get to the U.S. border that from Tuesday to Wednesday, things have changed overnight and ports are all open and they can come into the United States.”

Guatemala’s immigration spokesman Alejandra Mena told Reuters that there were approximately 6,500 Honduran migrants on the move. Thousands crossed the country’s southern border on Saturday with an ultimate announced destination of the United States.

Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei called on Honduran authorities to “contain the mass exit of its inhabitants,” ABC News reported. “The government of Guatemala regrets this violation of national sovereignty and calls on the governments of Central America to take measures to avoid putting their inhabitants at risk amid the health emergency due to the pandemic.”

Zarif Warns Trump That Tehran Won't 'Shy From Crushing Agressors' After B-52 Patrol in Middle East

Earlier in the day, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that B-52 bomber aircraft had conducted a second "presence patrol" in the Middle East, calling it a "key part of CENTCOM’s defensive posture".

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif took to Twitter on Sunday, addressing the official account of the outgoing US president with a denouncement of the B-52 bomber aircraft patrolling the Middle East.

"If your B-52H “Presence Patrols” are meant to intimidate or warn Iran", Zarif addressed Trump, "you should have spent those $billions on your taxpayers' health. […] While we have not started a war in over 200 years, we don’t shy from crushing aggressors. Just ask your BFFs who supported Saddam", he added, apparently referring to Iraq's allies in the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.

Zarif's remarks followed the earlier US CENTCOM post about US B-52 bomber aircraft conducting what was described as a "second Middle East presence patrol of 2021 as key part of CENTCOM’s defensive posture".

CENTCOM said that the patrol is the fifth mission of its Bomber Task Force into the Middle East in the past several months.

"Short-term deployments of strategic assets are an important part of our defensive posture in the region," said Gen. Frank McKenzie, head of CENTCOM. "The training opportunity and continued integration with regional partners improves readiness and delivers a clear and consistent message in the operational environment to both friends and potential adversaries, alike."

Earlier, reports said that two US B-52s were spotted in Israeli airspace heading toward the Persian Gulf.

US military presence in the Middle East

The US military presence in the Middle East region has long prompted concern in Iran, as it has repeatedly demanded that Washington stop "extraterritorial adventurism" and refrain from what Tehran described as "policy of interfering and sowing division among the countries of the region".

In December 2020, Iran denounced the United States for showing off power in the Persian Gulf when the American nuclear-powered submarine USS Georgia, accompanied by other vessels, crossed the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has repeatedly called for the US, which has multiple military bases in the Middle East, including Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and the UAE, to withdraw its troops from the region so that "peace" can be achieved.

In particular, Zarif urged the Trump adminsitration to remove US troops from Iraq and Afghanistan - something that the outgoing president at the time pledged to do.

“As a manifestation of external interference, the presence of foreign forces is another source of Afghanistan’s instability. However, as many countries have stressed, their withdrawal must be orderly and responsible and must not lead to a security vacuum in Afghanistan", Zarif said in December 2020.

Former Facebook Official Calls For Verizon, AT&T, Others To Deplatform OANN And Newsmax

Former Facebook chief security officer Alex Stamos called for carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and others to deplatform One America News Network (OANN) and Newsmax during a Sunday morning appearance on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.”

Discussing the ongoing political polarization in America in the wake of the November election and the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, Stamos suggested that since people now “are able to seek out the information that makes them feel good,” an incentive exists for some outlets to “become more and more radical.”

“One of the places you can see this is on the fact that you now have competitors to Fox News on their right, OANN and Newsmax, which are carried by all the major cable networks, who are trying now to outflank Fox on the right because the moment Fox [News] introduced any kind of realism into their reporting, immediately a bunch of people chose to put themselves into a sealed ecosystem,” Stamos said. “They can do that both on cable. They can do it online, and that becomes a huge challenge in figuring out how do you bring people back into the mainstream of fact-based reporting and try to get us back into the same consensual reality.”

Stamos went on to suggest that social media companies collaborate together “in the same way they worked on ISIS.”

“There was a collaboration between the tech companies and law enforcement to make it impossible for them to use the internet to recruit and radicalize mostly young Muslim men at the same around the world,” he said. “Now we’re talking about the domestic audience in the United States.”

Before calling for outright deplatforming, the former Facebook insider lamented “extremely radical” influencers on YouTube who have “a larger audience than daytime CNN.”

“It is up to the Facebooks and YouTubes in particular to think about whether or not they want to be effectively cable networks for disinformation,” he said. “And then we have to figure out the OANN and Newsmax problem that these companies have freedom of speech, but I’m not sure we need Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, and such to be bringing them into tens of millions of homes. This is allowing people to seek out information if they really want to, but not pushing it into their faces I think is really where we’re going to have to go here.”
