Caroline Kennedy Suddenly Resigns From Boeing

(Remember that Thursday 1/14/21 Twitter Removed her account after she posted photos of JFKJR with Trump)

Article states:

Former U.S. Ambassador Caroline Kennedy has resigned from Boeing's board of directors after serving the global aerospace company for three years during its worst-ever crisis, the jet maker said Friday, raising the possibility the high-profile Democrat may return to a big diplomatic job in the new Biden administration.

Kennedy, who joined Chicago-based Boeing's board in 2017, served as a member of its several of its key committees, including audit, compensation, finance and governance, as it grappled with the 737 Max crisis and two crashes that killed 346 people in Ethiopia and Indonesia.

In August, though, Kennedy emerged from the boardroom and spoke at a Democratic National Committee event as a backer of Joe Biden.

Before that, Kennedy, the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, served as ambassador to Japan from 2013 to 2017 for President Barack Obama, while Biden served as vice president. Kennedy is close to Biden, and at the DNC event she described her long relationship with him, dating back to the 1970s when she was a Senate intern.

Boeing CEO David Calhoun also said he was privileged to work alongside Kennedy and on the board while he himself chaired it. "I'm grateful not only for her contributions to Boeing, but for her service on behalf of our country," Calhoun added.

Lynne Doughtie, the former CEO of KPMG in the U.S., was elected to Boeing's Board in January 2021, replacing Caroline Kennedy.

Boeing Chairman Larry Kellner said the jet maker's remaining directors have voted to replace Kennedy with Lynn Doughtie, 58, who retired from KPMG in 2020 after serving as its U.S. chairman and CEO since 2015.

"Lynne Doughtie is a highly accomplished executive with a demonstrated track record of leading a world-class organization," Kellner said in a Boeing news release. "She will provide perspective reflecting her global leadership roles and experience advising clients on complex matters as well as significant risk management expertise. We look forward to working with her."

Doughtie will serve on the board's audit and finance committees, the company said.

As the first woman to be elected U.S. chairman and CEO of KPMG, Doughtie also served as a member of KPMG's Global Board and Executive Committee.

Doughtie joined KPMG's audit practice in 1985 before rising through the ranks of one of the world's leading professional services firms. KPMG operates in 147 countries and territories, employing more than 219,000 people.

Doughtie has been recognized by Fortune's Most Powerful Women, Crain's New York Business's 50 Most Powerful Women in New York, Accounting Today's Top 100 Most Influential People, the National Association of Corporate Directors' 100 most influential people in the boardroom.

Calhoun welcomed Doughtie's "impressive track record of advancing organizational goals through culture and innovation," saying her track record would strengthen the jet maker's board.

Former Catholic Archbishop of Adelaide Philip Wilson has died aged 70.

The Adelaide Archdiocese said while he had suffered ill health, his death was sudden

Emeritus Archbishop Wilson went through a high-profile court case in 2018, before his conviction was overturned

Archbishop of Brisbane Mark Coleridge said on Twitter that Emeritus Archbishop Wilson had died unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon.

In 2018, Emeritus Archbishop Wilson became the highest-ranking Catholic in the world to be convicted with concealing child sex abuse, over paedophile priest Jim Fletcher's crimes in the Hunter Valley in the 1970s.

That conviction led him to resign but it was later quashed on appeal, with a court finding there were doubts the archbishop had been told about the abuse.

The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference said Emeritus Archbishop Wilson had also served as the Bishop of Wollongong and as the president of the bishops' conference.

Church leaders paid tribute to Emeritus Archbishop Wilson, with Archbishop Coleridge saying he was "a true man of the Church and a good friend who suffered greatly".

Archbishop of Melbourne Peter Comensoli said it was "such a sad, sad moment".

"Yet our friend always longed for his eternal destiny in such faith and hope. May he be welcomed by the Lord," he wrote on Twitter.

In a statement, the Adelaide Archdiocese says while he'd suffered ill health, including cancer, his death this afternoon was sudden.

It says despite the court case, Emeritus Archbishop Wilson was an important figure in introducing reforms to help the church respond to child sexual abuse.

Archbishop Patrick O'Regan, who replaced Archbishop Wilson, said he was loved across the country and made major contributions to the church.

"A harrowing period of allegations, charges, conviction and eventually acquittal was a significant chapter on Philip's life, but his record of supporting and advocating on behalf of victims and survivors is part of his legacy," Archbishop O'Regan said.
