US Troops Complete Pullout From Somalia, Sent to Kenya and Djibouti

The US military is reporting this weekend that its previously announced pullout from Somalia is completed, with the last troops sent to Kenya and Djibouti. This keeps them in roughly the same part of Africa.

All told, this was about 700 troops removed from Somalia. The Trump Administration returned troops to Somalia for the first time in decades, citing the need to support the Somali transitional government.

Ground troops took part in training, while the US launched multiple airstrikes into Somalia. Airstrikes have continued since the pullout began, with officials saying it proved their ongoing commitment to the country.

Continuing airstrikes without a ground presence is dicey, as it reduces US forces’ ability to gather intelligence on what they are striking. So far, that doesn’t seem to be limiting the US desire to keep striking, but civilian casualties could lead to blowback.

Google-Funded Conservative Groups Urge Congress to Avoid Antitrust Action Against Big Tech

A group of “free-market and low-tax advocates” are urging House Republicans to back off plans to take antitrust action against Big Tech companies.

The Washington Times reported the “conservative activists” authored a 10-page letter to Republican U.S. Reps. Ken Buck (CO), Matt Gaetz (FL), and Andy Biggs (AZ) and it said in part:

We fear that today, both sides of the aisle are pushing for the weaponization of antitrust, either as a tool to punish corporate actors with whom they disagree or out of a presupposition that big is bad.

Unfortunately, the antitrust debate has begun to devolve into a litany of unrelated and often contradictory concerns, unsubstantiated and dismissive attacks, and seemingly a presumption that any market-related complaint that can be made on the internet can also be cured by the panacea of antitrust.

The letter contained the signatures of officials and representatives from several organizations, including The Committee for Justice, National Taxpayers Union, The Bork Foundation, Independence Institute, Libertas Institute, Conservatives for Property Rights, Institute for Policy Innovation, American Action Forum, Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagle Forum, Digital Liberty, Lone Star Policy Institute, Competitive Enterprise Institute, Committee to Unleash Prosperity, Americans for Tax Reform, Consumer Choice Center, Pelican Center for Technology and Innovation, American Consumer Institute, FreedomWorks, Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, and the American Conservative Union.

A review of Google’s “most substantial contributions” found several of the signatories are also recipients of donations from the company, including:

A source familiar with the situation told Breitbart News that Google helped author the letter, which a representative for the Committee for Justice denied.

‘That is entirely false, and there is no reason why anyone should think that. Google did not participate in any part of the process of drafting the letter. I was the sole drafter of the letter,” Ashley Baker, the group’s director of public policy, said.

A spokesman for Buck told Breitbart News his office did not receive the letter and learned about it in the media.

Kidnapped Nigerian Catholic Priest Hacked to Death with Machetes

A Nigerian Catholic priest abducted last week was hacked to death with machetes by his kidnappers, according to a report Monday.

The lifeless body of Father John Gbakaan, a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Minna, in Nigeria’s expansive Middle Belt, was discovered tied to a tree near the road where he had been kidnapped, so severely disfigured by machetes that recognition was difficult.

The priest had been reported dead by fellow priest Father Ugochukwu Ugwoke on January 16.

The parish priest of Santa Teresa a Madala, Father John Jatau, said Sunday that Father Gbakaan had gone to Makurdi in the state of Benue on January 14 to visit his mother, accompanied by his brother and another priest.

On the way back on January 15, the priest and his brother were attacked by armed bandits along the Lambata-Lapai road around 9:00 pm. The gunmen abducted the two men and then called the diocese of Minna on Saturday demanding a ransom payment of thirty million Naira ($75,000), which they later reduced to five million Naira ($12,500).

The Toyota Venza in which the priest was traveling was found in the bush near his body. His brother is still missing and presumed to be in the hands of the bandits.

The Vice President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. John Hayab, called the killing of the Catholic priest “shocking and painful,” noting that insecurity for Christians has taken on an alarming dimension.

“We received the news of the kidnapping and killing of our dear Fr. John with great shock and pain,” said Father Hayab. “Today in northern Nigeria many people live in fear and many young people are afraid of becoming priests or pastors because their lives are in great danger.”

“When bandits or kidnappers realize that their victim is a priest or a pastor, it seems that a violent spirit takes hold of their heart to ask for a greater ransom and in some cases they go so far as to kill the victim,” Fr. Hayab added. “We are simply pleading with the federal government and all security agencies to do whatever it takes to end this evil.”

The identity of Father Gbakaan’s killers is still unknown. In Nigeria’s Middle Belt, Christians are often victims of violence from Muslim Fulani militants.

Norway denies 'direct link' between deaths of 33 elderly people and Pfzier Covid vaccine they received

Thirty-three people who died after getting a Covid-19 vaccine in Norway were all over 75, seriously ill and there is no evidence of a 'direct link' between the jab and their deaths, health officials have said.

Norway's medicine agency sought to reassure people on Monday after reports at the weekend showed a number of elderly people had died after getting the Pfizer jab.

'All of these patients have had serious underlying illnesses,' the agency's medical director Steinar Madsen told Bloomberg, adding that they were all 75 or over.

'Clearly Covid is far more dangerous to most patients than vaccination. We are not alarmed.'

Madsen acknowledged that the mild side effects of the vaccine could theoretically 'tip the patients into a more serious course' of an illness they already had.

And health officials said it would now be up to doctors to decide whether elderly and already-ill patients would benefit from having the jab.

But officials also pointed out that an average of 400 people die every week in nursing and care facilities in Norway, with Madsen adding that the reported deaths made up around 1 in 1,000 of the people vaccinated at care homes.

All deaths within the first few days of receiving a vaccine are assessed, the Norwegian Medicines Agency said in a statement.

Reported side effects of the Pfizer vaccine in Norway include fatigue, nausea, dizziness and muscle pain.

On Friday, the Norwegian Medicines Agency reported that of the fatalities, 13 had been autopsied and showed signs of suffering such side effects.

Norwegian officials now say that medical workers should consider with each patient 'whether the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks of eventual side effects'.

Hacked emails allegedly detail how EU drug regulator was pressured to approve Pfizer jab despite ‘problems’ with the vaccine

An alleged cache of email exchanges between EU officials and the European Medicines Agency show that the drug regulator was uncomfortable about fast-tracking approval for the Pfizer and Moderna Covid jabs, Le Monde has reported.

The EMA has claimed that the contents of the messages, which were obtained by hackers and published on the dark web, were tampered with in order to undermine confidence in the drugs, without providing further details. However, the agency acknowledged to the French newspaper that the correspondences reflect “issues and discussions” that took place in the lead-up to the decision to grant approval to the vaccines. The agency said it can’t specify which documents are genuine.

Some of the “discussions” appear to have been less than congenial. For example, in a document dated November 19, a senior EMA official described a “rather tense, sometimes even a little unpleasant” conference call with the European Commission regarding the review process for the drugs. The official said he felt there was a clear “expectation” that the vaccines would be approved. A day later, the same individual had an exchange with the Danish Medicines Agency in which he expressed surprise that Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, had announced that the Moderna and Pfizer jabs could receive the green light before the end of the year.

“There are still problems with both,” the unnamed EMA official noted in the leaked correspondence.

According to Le Monde, the hacked documents primarily detail issues that the EMA had with the Pfizer/BioNTech drug. The regulator apparently had three “major issues” with the vaccine: certain manufacturing sites used for its production had not yet been inspected, data on batches produced for commercial use were still missing, and, most importantly, available data revealed qualitative differences between the commercial batches and those used during clinical trials.

The EMA expressed particular concern about the last point, noting that mass production had decreased the purity of the RNA contained in the vaccine. The Pfizer jab uses a mRNA strand, a sequence of molecules that tell cells what to ‘build’ in order to produce a disease-specific antigen.

The EU drug regulator signaled that it was worried that less rigorous manufacturing methods would make the vaccine less effective and safe. However, Pfizer appears to have agreed to make necessary adjustments in order to meet the EMA’s standards.

Despite its hesitancy, it appears the EMA understood that it was under a clear deadline. In an email exchange between colleagues at the agency, one employee said the EMA needs to “accelerate the process to align [with other agencies],” and risks facing “questions and criticisms” from Brussels, the media and the general public if it did not fast-track approval.

The Pfizer jab was granted approval by the EU on December 21, while the Moderna variant was given the go-ahead earlier this month. Since then, numerous reports have emerged of both drugs being linked to adverse effects in countries around the world, prompting investigations by health authorities.

What’s Next? Great Awakening or Great Reset?

Pick your favorite sports analogy. President Trump is at bat, bottom of the ninth inning, two outs, full count, bases loaded, down by three runs. Or he is at the poker table, across from the entire Washington DC ruling class, all the chips now on the table. Is he holding a royal flush or a pair of threes?

We will know in a few days how the game ends, as either the “great awakening” or the “great reset”. It’s a binary choice with one winner and one loser, no ties or extra innings. This will be one of the most consequential weeks in human history.

Far more than a presidential election is at stake. The future direction of America is on the line, either continuing as a beacon of freedom and liberty, an inspiration and bulwark of stability for the entire world, or a real life “Hunger Games” with a small vindictive ruling class creating utopia for themselves and punishing or destroying all those who stand in their way.

In a week we will have our answer. While most of the country happily checks their social media feeds and watches TikTok videos, an epic battle is playing out in the nation’s capital, one that future historians, if they are allowed to discuss it, will describe as the turning point of western civilization.

On the one hand, we have been promised a great awakening, showing the people the crimes and corruption of the ruling class, as described by Trump before he was elected in 2016 in a little known but epic speech. Those claiming to be in the know or able to read the stitches on the fast ball, promised “The Storm” and “The Kraken”. Yet so far, it’s only a light breeze.

On the other hand, Washington, DC is locked down tighter than post 9/11, with checkpoints in and out of the city, almost like under martial law, all for a mostly virtual Biden inauguration. That doesn’t make sense.

Crimes against humanity were to be revealed so hideous that the guilty would not be able to walk down the street unmolested. Except they can and are. Those who should be held accountable instead conjured up another bogus impeachment, easily passed, kicking a good man and his entire movement in the ribs on the way out the door, all for their perverse vindictive pleasure.
