Democrat Calls for Plan to Surround US Capitol with Permanent Fence to Keep Lawmakers Safe

Democrat Ritchie Torres (D-NY) pushed new legislation to encircle the US Capitol with a fence and secure barricade to protect lawmakers from the people.

Torres told reporters, “We have to ensure the Capitol is secure during a time of sedition.”

For years Democrats in Congress insisted walls don’t work. But they sure are quick to change their mind when they fear for their own protection.

In 2019 Democrats sued President Trump in order to block his border wall project. They fought it every step of the way.

Obviously, their security is more important than the security of the American people.

Rep. Lauren Boebert Faces Lawsuit After Blocking Crazed Antifa Activist On Twitter

After blocking a political rival because of harassing tweets, freshman Congresswoman now faces a First Amendment lawsuit claim

Freshman Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is in the crosshairs of the Left’s double-standard, cancel culture censorship campaign after she blocked a Twitter troll who was sending harassing tweets to her.

A former Colorado State Representative, Bri Buentello, was blocked on Twitter by Boebert after Buentello peppered the Congresswoman-Elect with harassing tweets including posts about initiating a recall election against Boebert.

One tweet said, “Daily reminder that @laurenboebert // @RepBoebert is a white supremacist and unapologetic fascist. #ExpelBoebert #GOPTraitorsToDemocracy #copolitics”

Another read, “Not only is @RepBoebert // @laurenboebert complicit and sympathetic with these #DomesticTerrorists, she added and abetted their violent takeover of our Capitol, targeting our leaders. Pueblo deserves better. #ResignBoebert #Sedition #SeditiousGOP #copolitics”

And another read, “Our very own homegrown fascist, making national news and #CO03 is just so, so very proud. /sarcasm/ #copolitics”

Buentello’s attorneys argued that in blocking Buentello from her Twitter page, Boebert has violated their client’s constitutional right to free speech.

“She (Boebert) believes the Constitution begins and ends with the Second Amendment. We are trying to teacher her that the Constitution is broader and that every provision has to be protected,” one of Buentello’s attorneys said.

Ironically, Buentello’s profile picture on her twitter account shows her holding a rifle.

Buentello, who in a resident in Boebert’s district, was defeated in her bid for a second term in the Colorado State House last November.

Buentello’s lawsuit comes in the aftermath of the temporary deplatforming of Parler by Amazon AWS, and the actual censoring of the free speech of millions of Americans by Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, including President Trump and his staff.

Trump Revokes $120bn Licenses for Sellers to China’s Huawei

The Trump administration has revoked licenses – estimated to be worth hundreds of billions of dollars – from tech firms exporting products to Chinese telecommunication company Huawei.

“The Trump administration notified Huawei suppliers, including chipmaker Intel, that it is revoking certain licenses to sell to the Chinese company and intends to reject dozens of other applications to supply the telecommunications firm,” Reuters first reported.

The move is expected to be that last shot against the Chinese telecommunications company which collaborates with the Chinese Communist Party’s military and provides the regime backdoor access to its data and devices.

“In an email seen by Reuters documenting the actions, the Semiconductor Industry Association said on Friday the Commerce Department had issued “intents to deny a significant number of license requests for exports to Huawei and a revocation of at least one previously issued license,” Reuters continued.

The move could potentially jeopardize $300 billion worth of trade of “goods and technology” with Huawei:

Before the latest action, some 150 licenses were pending for $120 billion worth of goods and technology, which had been held up because various U.S. agencies could not agree on whether they should be granted, a person familiar with the matter said. Another $280 billion of license applications for goods and technology for Huawei still have not been processed, the source said, but now are more likely to be denied.

Scarborough Just Revealed How the Left Aims to Pressure Big Tech to Silence Conservatives

In the wake of the January 6 attack on the Capitol, Big Tech has crossed a Rubicon. Facebook and Twitter booted President Donald Trump. Apple, Google, and Amazon eviscerated Parler, the conservative alternative to Twitter. Yet it seems the Left will demand Big Tech crack down on conservative speech even further.

On Monday morning, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough blamed Facebook and Twitter for the Capitol riot, saying, “It’s on them,” for setting up business models that fostered “radicalism” and “conspiracy theories” that led to the riot.

“Those riots would not have happened but for Twitter, but for Facebook,” Scarborough declared. He cited a New York Times story about algorithms, claiming that “people were tweeting about health, and tweeting about mindfulness, and tweeting about — I don’t know — flowers and music, and then they stumbled onto some of these conspiracy theories and because Facebook’s algorithms were set up to cause this sort of radicalism to explode, guess what happened? Their likes exploded, the people following them exploded.”

“So you actually had Facebook and Twitter set up their business models in a way that would lead to the insurrection against the United States of America. It is on them, predominantly,” Scarborough claimed.

Facebook and Twitter did not set up algorithms to promote “conspiracy theories.” In reality, people shared disturbing stories with allegations of voter fraud and other irregularities because they are salacious. Many Americans who voted for Donald Trump and watched the president lead in the vote counts on election night were surprised to see Joe Biden overtake him in late-night ballot counts. Many suspected fraud and these stories fueled those suspicions.

Rather than investigating and carefully debunking the claims, many officials and legacy media outlets merely declared that either there was no election fraud or there wasn’t enough election fraud to alter the outcome. Tragically, this certainty only fueled suspicions that the legacy media was burying the truth, which led conservatives to search for alternate news sources.

President Trump made the situation worse by claiming that he won the election “in a landslide.” Conservatives who have rightly questioned the legacy media’s far-left bias and who have trusted Trump instead thought the president knew something they did not. Unfortunately, Trump’s legal team failed to present key evidence of widespread fraud in court, and he lost his court challenges.

Facebook and Twitter did not amplify claims of voter fraud. In fact, Twitter flagged Trump’s warnings about mail-in voting starting back in May. Mail-in voting is less secure than in-person voting, but the legacy media and Twitter pushed the narrative that mail-in voting does not enable fraud. After the election, Twitter continued to crack down on the president’s tweets.

The stories of voter fraud and election irregularities spread on Facebook and Twitter because people wanted to see them and they wanted to share them.

So why did Scarborough blame Facebook and Twitter? In the wake of the Capitol riot, Democrats and Big Tech have kicked censorship and cancel culture into high gear. Twitter and Facebook kicked Trump off their platforms and Democrats impeached Trump a second time — for “incitement of insurrection.” Democrats are calling for the Senate to expel Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Josh Hawley (R-Mo.). Big Tech eviscerated conservative Twitter alternative Parler, and the Left is demanding more and more.

Shortly after the 2020 election, none other than former President Barack Obama called for more Big Tech “fact-checking” because even though Trump had lost the election, more than 71 million voters had supported Trump.

Far-left outfits like the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) have long branded mainstream conservative ideas dangerous — the SPLC defames mainstream conservative and Christian groups by branding them “hate groups” and placing them on a list with the Ku Klux Klan — and many are seizing on the Capitol riot as proof that conservatives must be silenced.

Expect more censorship and demonizing of conservative ideas as Democrats take over the Capitol and the White House.

Giuliani Explains Why He Won't Be on Trump's Impeachment Trial Team

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani announced he would not be serving on Donald Trump’s legal defense team for the Senate impeachment trial — a day after he said he would be defending Trump at the trial.

“I’m involved right now … that’s what I’m working on,” Giuliani told ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl on Saturday.

The House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump on January 13, exactly one week after rioters broke into the U.S. Capitol following a pro-Trump rally. Protesters and rioters seemed intent on blocking the House and the Senate from ratifying the Electoral College votes for Joe Biden, based on concerns of voter fraud and irregularities and Trump’s repeated claims that he won the election “by a landslide” before Democrats “stole” it.

The Democrats (and ten House Republicans) impeached Trump for “incitement of insurrection.” While some of Trump’s statements during the Capitol riots were beyond the pale, the president has since condemned the rioters and promised to support a peaceful transition of power.

On Saturday, Giuliani attacked the logic of the impeachment, claiming that Democrats equated claims of voter fraud with incitement to violence.

“They basically claimed that anytime [Trump] says voter fraud, voter fraud — or I do, or anybody else — we’re inciting to violence; that those words are fighting words because it’s totally untrue,” the former mayor said. “Well, if you can prove that it’s true, or at least true enough so it’s a legitimate viewpoint, then they are no longer fighting words.”

Yet on Sunday night, Giuliani abruptly reversed course. He told ABC News that he would not be on the impeachment defense team.

“Because I gave an earlier speech [at the January 6 Trump rally before the Capitol riot],” Giuliani said, “I am a witness and therefore unable to participate in court or Senate chamber.”

What happened?

Republican strategist Karl Rove may have revealed the answer.

Shortly after Giuliani told ABC News that he would be defending Trump in the impeachment trial, Rove spoke on Fox News Sunday, warning that Giuliani’s involvement in the trial may lead 17 Republicans to join Democrats in voting to “remove” Trump.

“If it’s the Rudy Giuliani defense, there’s a strong likelihood that more than 17 Republicans will [vote to convict Mr Trump], because essentially that argument is: ‘This was justified, the attack on the Capitol and the attempt to end the congressional hearing on certifying the election was justified because all these charges are true,'” Rove warned. “And frankly, they aren’t.”

Did Giuliani drop out of the impeachment defense team because he worried Trump would lose if he was involved?

Meanwhile, some contested reports have claimed that Giuliani has charged Trump $20,000 a day for his post-election push on voter fraud. Trump has reportedly instructed his aides not to pay Giuliani’s fees. Giuliani has denied charging the president $20,000 per day.

While Trump did not encourage his supporters to attack the Capitol (and he urged them to “go home” amid the attack), Giuliani told the crowd to engage in “trial by combat.”

It remains to be seen whether Republican senators will vote to “remove” Trump even Joe Biden is president, but it does seem Giuliani’s involvement would be more of a liability than an asset in the likely upcoming Senate trial.

US Scientist Who Led Charge Against COVID Lab Leak Theory Admits He Was Trying To Protect Chinese Scientists

Dr. Peter Daszak orchestrated a statement at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic that condemned “conspiracy theories” that the virus doesn’t have a natural origin.

Daszak admitted on Friday through a spokesman that he issued the statement to protect Chinese scientists from online criticism.

Daszak has worked directly with scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and allegedly played a key role in directing taxpayer-funded grants to the research center.

The State Department announced on Friday that it has obtained evidence showing that researchers at the WIV became sick with flu-like symptoms in Fall 2019, prior to the first known cases of COVID-19

The U.S. scientist behind an effort to stymie debate surrounding the possibility that COVID-19 could have accidentally escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology admitted through a spokesman that he did so to protect Chinese scientists from online criticism.

Dr. Peter Daszak, the president of the New York-based EcoHealth Alliance, orchestrated a statement published in The Lancet medical journal in February, prior to any serious research on the origins of COVID-19, condemning “conspiracy theories” that suggest the virus doesn’t have a natural origin.

Daszak has worked directly with scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which was studying bat-based coronaviruses prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, and he allegedly played an influential role in directing two taxpayer-funded grants from the National Institute of Health to the Chinese research center.

An email obtained by U.S. Right to Know, an investigative research group, shows that Daszak worked to significantly broaden a line in the draft version of the statement that had condemned the conspiracy theory that COVID-19 was a Chinese manufactured bio-weapon.

“I think this is a bit too specific, because there are other conspiracy theories out there,” Daszak said in the Feb. 6, 2020, email. “Our current statement neatly refutes most of them by saying that ‘We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that 2019-nCoV does not have a natural origin. Scientific evidence overwhelmingly suggests that this virus originated in wildlife, as have many other emerging diseases.”

A spokesman for Daszak told The Wall Street Journal on Friday that his statement, which was cited by numerous news outlets during the onset of the pandemic, was meant to protect Chinese scientists.

“The Lancet letter was written during a time in which Chinese scientists were receiving death threats and the letter was intended as a showing of support for them as they were caught between important work trying to stop an outbreak and the crush of online harassment,” Daszak’s spokesman told The Journal.

Biden Asks US Ambassador to Russia Sullivan to Remain in Office - Report

Biden reportedly wants Sullivan to remain in the office until he finds a suitable replacement, given that the position is "too important" to leave vacant.

President-elect Joe Biden has asked John Sullivan to continue to serve as US ambassador to Russia, Bloomberg reported, citing sources who reported citing sources who declined to be identified.

Along with Sullivan, several other appointees of outgoing President Donald Trump were similarly requested to stay at their diplomatic posts, according to the report.

Sullivan was picked to serve in the office by President Donald Trump a little more than a year ago. Most of the other Trump officials are expected to resign as soon as the next administration steps in.

Biden had started picking nominees for high-ranking positions in the future administration already in November, including for the key diplomatic posts. On Saturday, he chose veteran diplomats Wendy R. Sherman and Victoria Nuland as deputy secretary of state and undersecretary for political affairs, respectively. In November, Antony Blinken was nominated as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's successor.
