I think Trump has been an amazing distraction for the deep state. They were so desperate to reclaim power that they made more than a few errors. They are starting to realize it, but it is too late to stop it.
For example… Biden is obviously in mental decline. He should be removed from office. But this requires a 3/4 vote of both chambers to sustain.
So… Who will be in control of the Presidency if the man who is in it is senile, isolated from his handlers, and no one can agree to remove him from office?
Once isolated from people feeding him stupid things to do - is he really dangerous? Why replace him with someone dangerous?
Thus, the hilarity of the democrats trying to destroy their own president as the secret service protect him.
