You help them slide the thread, and the focus of the conversation shifts. Crucial posts are missed, and garbage makes its way into the bread.

Did someone just say something which angered you or stirred you emotionally? It was a shill. Filter them and move on.

Most of the shills have been proven to be bots. Yes, they can generate realistic replies, but none of them will ever contribute positively to a conversation here.

Do not in any circumstances willingly speak to a shill. You only raise the morale of the bot-wranglers.

I would go as far to not even complain about the shilling. It only makes them aware of their effectiveness.
