Something else has been nagging at me as well.

POTUS comments about the courts giving him a 3rd term. Most people think him to mean, that he would win 2020, and get (the federal or supreme) "courts" to give him a mulligan on the 2016 term due to treason. This is an absurd comment, as no court would invalidate the 22nd amendment. It even spells out that the constitution requires ratification to alter.

However, the 22nd amendment does state "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice."

So if he technically was not elected for 2020, and the military assumes power, would he not be able to run for re-election in 2024? Effectively giving him a "3RD" term? This would explain allowing a Biden inauguration, as the military would be the only recourse.

>POTUS was talking about the military courts, not civilian.
