Why is it so hard for Americans to accept that malign and powerful interests often work together to enrich themselves at the expense of anyone foolhardy enough to let them get away with it? Why is it that a nation that has churned out crime and conspiracy fantasy in the form of film and television for at least 90 years finds it so difficult to accept that such things happen in the real world? How is it that the media - transparently dishonest and conniving, and with a history of being the mouthpiece of the intelligence apparatus’ social engineering agendas - still holds so much sway over the minds of the nation?
