The Ballad of Christopher Krebs: Connection to Voting Fraud Scheme

Doubled Down on the real "Big Lie" - Most Secure Election EVER

- - - - PART I - - - -

We all know that Christopher Krebs (former DHS/CISA Head) was fired by Trump, but here's some more for the record. Looks like he had a parachute ready-to-go:

Appeared on CNN with Brian Stelter.

He asks Christopher Krebs about how election lies translate into extremist actions, and Krebs says it is important to differentiate between militia members, full-blown conspiracy theorists, and "disaffected voters" that have bought into Trump's big lie.

Mis- and disinformation can undermine public confidence in the electoral process, as well as in our democracy. Elections are administered by state and local officials who implement numerous safeguards to protect the security of your vote pursuant to various state and federal laws and processes. This resource is designed to debunk common misinformation and disinformation narratives and themes that relate broadly to the security of election infrastructure and related processes.

Stated that Impeachment is the Right Mechanism

Ex-CISA Head Chris Krebs: ‘Impeachment Is the Right Mechanism’ in Interview with Wired Magazine on 15 Jan 2021

https://www.wired.com/story/chris-krebs-cisa-trump-impeachment-disinformation/

In an interview with WIRED, the famously fired DHS official shared insights on election security, disinformation, SolarWinds—and what to do about Trump.

“When the leader of the free world is one of the most active propagators of the disinfo… that's a heck of a challenge.”

The reason that I think the first option is that the president resign is because he needs to accept responsibility for what he's done, that he lied to his followers, that all of these claims of fraud and stolen and rigged elections, that was all a grift. It was a long game. It was a con, and he needs to own up to that. And you need to tell his followers that they need to back down and listen to their state and local election officials about how elections actually work…In lieu of him resigning, impeachment is the right mechanism.

From the above site: They're conducting a risk-limiting audit right now up in Michigan. They’re doing a risk-limiting audit of the runoff from last week in Bartow County, Georgia. it's important that you have evidence-based elections with meaningful post-election audit processes.

Georgia Falls for Arlo Technique as Recommended by Krebs/CISA

To prepare for statewide post-election audits in 2020, the Secretary of State’s Office is partnering with VotingWorks, and the Center for Election Innovation and Research, national non-partisan organizations that have experience with election audits in multiple states. Arlo, the auditing tool used in Georgia’s risk-limiting audit, was recognized Thursday by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

CISA Recommends VotingWorks Arlo Tool as a Hedge to Foreign Influence

CISA rolls out post-election audit tool for 2020 article on Nov 22, 2019

The Department of Homeland Security has announced a partnership with election nonprofit VotingWorks to pilot new open-source post-election auditing software in several states ahead of the 2020 U.S. elections.

The software, Arlo, was developed by VotingWorks as a free, open-source tool to help states conduct post-election audits to verify voting results. DHS said that election officials from Pennsylvania, Michigan, Missouri, Virginia, Ohio and Georgia have already signed on to the pilot and that earlier iterations of Arlo have already been deployed by several states in off-year elections held this month.

"At a time when we know foreign actors are attempting to interfere and cast doubt on our democratic processes, it's incredibly important elections are secure, resilient, and transparent," Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Director Christopher Krebs said in a statement.

Aspen Institute launches an Information Disorder Commission with $3.25 million from Craig Newmark in January 13, 2021 article.

“Over the next six months, the Commission on Information Disorder will develop both short- and long-term recommendations for how government, the private sector, and civil society should respond to and position themselves amid this modern-day crisis of faith in key institutions.” (The commission will be led by Christopher Krebs, the founding director of DHS’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, who was fired by President Trump in November after he disputed Trump’s election fraud claims.) —SS

Aspen Institute Launches Commission on Information Disorder to Develop Actionable Public-Private Responses to the Disinformation Crisis

Washington, DC, January 13, 2021 — Amid a period of unprecedented challenge to American democracy, Aspen Digital, the Aspen Institute’s program on the intersection of media, technology, and security, and the Aspen Cybersecurity Group are launching a new commission to examine the nation’s public information crisis.

Last week’s insurrection at the U.S. Capitol provides a stark example of the real-life dangers that disinformation campaigns pose when they penetrate public discourse. These falsities have fragmented shared realities, with serious negative effects on issues from politics to business to health and safety.

“America faces a crisis of information on multiple fronts. Disinformation isn’t just a news or social media problem. It can be literal life and death, as we’re seeing daily amid this pandemic and after last week’s events at the Capitol,” said Krebs. “We can’t ignore this problem without risking a pretty significant breakdown of democracy and civil society. Addressing and minimizing the threat from mis- and disinformation in daily life will require bringing everyone together—government, the private sector, and civil society—and I look forward to having the chance to do that at the Aspen Institute.”

Over the coming weeks, Krebs will identify and recruit a co-chair and the members of the commission, which will include researchers, tech leaders, media specialists, private sector practitioners, and policy makers.
